Is Moz bashing slum mums or supporting them. i cant figure it out. In America we have poor unfortunate women who are left holding the bag by dead beat dads and are forced to work 3 jobs and receive hand outs from the government which often fall short of what they need. HOWEVER, we also have women who have children solely to receive money from the government and be supported by society. These women usually trade in their vouchers for selfish purposes and neglect their children. Which is he reffering to?

The ones who give their kids heroin by the sounds of it. It seems to me more of an attack on the Labour government not doing enough to help them despite the Party being formed with that sort of thing in mind- considering when he goes,
"And the Labour Government can't stand the Slum Mums
It's ingrained underneath your fingernails
The office of the Social Service is strategically placed
In a dowdy rowdy part of town to discourage you from signing
We make you feel like you're whining
when you claim what's legally yours"
Just my opinion mind.

"You can change your name
and you can bleach your skin
camouflage your accent
so that even you don't recognise it
But you won't escape
from the slum mums
because you are one
because you even wee like one"
An attack on that fine Mr. Blair? Surely not!!!

It's a bit like the 'teenage kid on his estate' where you think the kid is being attacked in the song when it turns into attacking the man who hates the teenage kid on his estate.
It's an attack on those women seen as breeding for the sake of it, different kids to different fathers etc and calls us poor suckers for funding it, then attacks the system for making it difficult for people (however geniune or not) to claim what is legally theirs.
I can relate to that, a few years ago I was (ahem) seeing someone who worked for the Inland Revenue (IRS to Americans) and we were talking one night and she asked what tax relief I got based on having two kids even though I was seperated at the time. I said I had not a clue and was not claiming anything. She came back the next day, filled the form out, i signed it and a few months later got a nice cheque for £1,200.
You should not have to be sleeping with someone from the IR to find out how to qualify for a rebate!! They dont tell you, you have to find out and if you dont ask then you dont get!
Finally, Morrissey suggests the women should do us all a favour (no doubt the system as well as neighbours) and go and poison herself and her brat pack in a field someone.
