View Full Version : problems with wearing moz t shirts????!!!

Does anyone else have problems when they wear their Morrissey t-shirts?
I own three Moz t-shirts (a 2002 tour t-shirt, a 2004 Quarry tour t-shirt, and a 'My Love Life' t-shirt). I often wear them and wear them with pride but sometimes they seem to attract a lot of attention, often people who look you over and seem to decide you're some kind of nutter or, worse, those idiots who decide it's a good excuse to label you as gay or 'soft' and have a go.
Sorry if this is a bit of a tirade, but I've just got back from the pub and everyone seemed ridiculously fascinated by the fact that I was wearing a Morrissey t-shirt as if being a moz fan was something to be kept under wraps. One bloke even conspiratorially motioned to me and said "morrissey? bit weird innit?". This sort of thing has always happened, even good friends seem a bit uncomfortable at me liking Moz so much (and I don't go on about him or talk about him all the time to them). I'm getting pretty pissed off with it!!!

Ive been looking for Moz tshirts, in fact! ;)
I like peoples expressions in record stores when I ask about Moz material. Theyre expecting me to ask about the new Pussy Cat dolls or Blink 182 or something....so theyre eyes widen when I say "Morrissey". Amusing!
As for attracting attention for wearing a Moz tshirt, I dont think the attention would bother me, in the slightest. You want negative attention?
Wear a Tom Jones tshirt.:(

I guess it depends on where you live and what kind of places you frequent .. I don't wear his t-shirts anymore but back in times when I did, I attracted only positive feedback, people stopping me on the street to tell me they like him too or similar. I guess he's not really really big here so you either get a positive comment or no comment at all. I would definitely give you thumbs up if I ever saw you (though I guess it'll never happen).
Keep on wearing them as long as they feel comfortable, who cares what some pathetic wanker thinks of it? Hold on to your beer and ignore. Always worked for me ...

I have about 25-odd Morrissey t-shirts any never get any bother, other than people in Queen Is Dead t-shirts from MusicZone or Virgin Megastores coming to talk to me about how great the Smiths were and how shit Morrissey's solo work is, which is greatly annoying, but not a massive problem.

How do you know that the people with TQID t shirts have bought them from Music Zone or Virgin? Especially as there is not a Virgin in Manchester?

PS I have absolutely no problem at all apart from wearing my 'How soon is now? t-shirt, with the words written on the back, and kids thinking it is funny to shout out 'How soon is now?' at me. Which I personally love the attention!

Thankfully they dont live in Wythenshawe so they should be safe.....

Only kidding, my Mam was raised in Moss Side (before the 2nd world war) and then Wythenshawe (after the war) and wont hear a bad word said against either district!!

Whenever I wear a Smiths t-shirt out no one takes much notice since I don't think many people have a clue who they are. Sad, but true. It does have its advantages though.

Whenever I wear a Moz t-shirt, all I get is people smiling at me and coming up to chat to me about him! I was on a train a few weeks back, wearing a Smiths t-shirt, and the 'train manager' was stood talking to me for ages about how he may not be his "cup of tea", but that he "(had) to admit, he still hasn't lost that sparkle"
Maybe these people just don't like your face

I noticed that there's rivery between people in North-East and North-West, possibly relating to football.
When I saw The Smiths in New Castle in 1986, a pathetic bugger spat on Morrissey at encore. That's totally unacceptable. We're so sad and angry that an uncivilized individual ruined everything.
I assume because you live in Durham, many people have negative feeling about anything to do with Manchester.

Why would you pay to go to a gig just to spit on the singer? Haha that's trag
But wait! I'm from West Yorkshire. I can't believe any Geordie rivalries match the ill feeling between Yorkshire and Lancashire... ;)

I wore a Moz t-shirt to our last 'non-uniform day.' My music teacher was the only person who seemed impressed, all my other teachers raised an eyebrow and said 'you like Morrissey?' As for the kids, they just kept asking me who he was!

I agree that it's not fair to classify people by age because I tend to enjoy the fact that Moz/Smiths have so many fans who weren't even born when they started out.
I can't say anything about people who say Smiths were cool and Moz is shit ... I guess it all depends on one's taste, you say you disagree and move on, that shouldn't be too hard.

i also forgot to mention that when i work in the summer my manager will call me Morrissey for the ENTIRE day if i wear my t-shirt that just has morrissey written on it. I don't want to be all doom and gloom - some people do make favourable comments, but just not many! having said that, when i go back to university by train i'm always smug when i'm wearing a moz t shirt and happen to sit in the same carriage as someone wearing, oh i dunno, a Muse t shirt. (not that i have anything against muse!)

You people need to wear your SMITHS/MOZ t-shirts with PRIDE and joy!! Forget about the haters or the ignorant losers who make negative comments......they are NOT important, if you let yourself be affected by them, then they win. I hardly ever wear any band t-shirt, I have 3 Smiths shirts and when I do wear them I only get either nothing[which I prefer] or sometimes someone coming up trying to make convo [annoying]...I wear them for me not for others. I guess it's different here in LA where he's not widely known than it is up there in the UK.
When I was in high school band t-shirts were my everyday attire, I had tons of them and I always wore them with pride dispite the haters who tried to start shit. This is a LONG complicated story so I'll cut it short.....OK, I was really popular and well liked by everyone my sophomore year at the school I went to....girls loved me, guys were amuzed by me and even gansta homies used to come up and high-five everytime I changed my hair color or did something crazy like cover my hands completely with yellow highlighter in the middle of class....:D I was too cute and people couldn't help themselves but to love me, so I got bored and moved to another campus in the same town the next year with many of my friends.
My welcome there was not so pleasant, in the 1st week at a school event I wore a Slayer t-shirt that caused great controversy and unleashed a vast amount of unpleasant events.......tons of hate, it was a war that went on for almost an entire school year. My friends and I were branded satanic by the group of skaters who started shit about my slayer shirt that had Jesus on the cross morphing into Satan..lol [the good old days] ....anyway, the satanic thing exploded and spread throughout the entire school and most of the town in a matter of days [ I lived in an awful small town then ] Everyday from that moment on was pure war between this huge group of skaters/skins and my small group of friends and I......It was crazy shit, they called us carnies, freaks, faggots and we'd call them posers [POSER POWER!!]...it was silly but it just kept on escalating.....soon there was hateful writtings on the walls, malicious rumors spread about everyone,,,etc.......until one day, it got violent when I was attacked by a 6foot beast at reaces....tons of people got involved and soon a huge crowd formed in the middle of the school.....I was so embarrased, it was a few days before my b-day and I just wanted to die......absolutely everyone knew about the incident, when my younger brother came up to me to let me know that he had heard of what had happend and asked me if I needed him to get his bros to back me up [he was in the bloods gang lol] I felt nothing but shame and I said NO.....they would have killed the poor loser anyway....those peeps meant business, my bro was sent to the hospital with hhis head split open when he was jumped out of the gang two years later........anyway, I continued going to school wearing my t-shirts and acting the same....I wasn't going to be oppressed by these assholes, dispite the fact that I was a fragile little gay boy, I kept on been myself with all the haters continuing the daily attacks....it went on and on and it was getting old and boooring so after a while to spice it up one day, I met my girlfriend's ex who was a giagantic 25y/o pacific islander punk rocker....total badass.....we told him what was going on at school and he decided that he wanted to kick some poser ass the next day YaY!! He came over at lunch outside the convinient store where the posers hung out and he told them off and threatened them, specially the guy who attacked me, I was there and he almost pissed his pants[the bitch] .....it was beautiful to see one guy totally dominate an entire group of about 30 posers and their friends.....I felt like heaven.
After that and a couple of beatings outside of school ;) it all calmed down and the hate went down considerably.....one of the ringleaders of the poser herd [who got his ass handed by Island Boy] moved away and I never saw him again ha ha......the Beast who beat me stopped being a bitch completely and towards the end of the year we even shook hands and hugged [YUK!] it was against our will but it still happened, I still get the giggles when I think about it......The rest of the poser herd kept on being assholes but so did we, so it was cool. MORAL of the story.......dont' let assholes intimidate you and if it gets too ugly, get someone to deal with it. It was a horrible Junior year of school at the time but now that I think back, it was tons of fun...not a dull day at all.....thanx to my old Slayer t-shirt that started the whole thing.
My last year was totally boring compared to the prior, so after a couple months I went on home studies to finish off school....sad! Also I found out that the whole thing did start over the damn t-shirt but there was other shit iniciated by this PIG who was jealous of me because he was UGLY and I was cute and the girl he liked had the hotts for me and not him, poor loser! He probably listens to EMO these days and cries about the fact that he was rejected by the girl he liked so much because she was in love with a guy who turned out to be gay. LOL

Yeah, I wonder that one sometimes too. Although it does get vaguely confusing when I'm wearing the Your Arsenal t-shirt with Morrissey's lovely torso displayed, I'm thinking, is that guy admiring Moz or me?! It's quite funny to consider and I wonder if they're confused too ;)
I wear a selection of mostly Smiths shirts but have never got comments, just looks. Maybe I seem unapproachable which is fine by me, although I think most people probably have no clue. I met a bunch of new people the other day whilst wearing a sweatshirt with a picture of Moz on and the quote 'I know it's over', and no one knew who he was! I was quite dismayed...
And I'm sure my 'Hang the DJ' shirt causes little old ladies to cross the road and to avoid me on the bus, very amusing :)

Amusing topic of conversation considering the other day I was walking up to watch the mighty Exeter City Vs the less mighty St Albans and a tramp came up to me and asked for some money as they do. I politely said no and he complimented me on how smart I looked (trainers, jeans, t-shirt and jacket!!) and said how much he liked my Morrissey t-shirt. He then started a ramble about how much he liked The Smiths and Morrissey's early solo work, but due to circumstances hasn't heard much of his newer stuff.
Since Exeter won 4-2 I've now got a tradition of wearing a Morrissey shirt to every match, which does cause some odd looks in the Social Club before the game but no-one's really said anything in there.

Intersting.
Sorry to say, I'm only wearing the M-monograme t-shirt from Tor of the Tormentors MMVI so it's har to see that it's a Moz shirt, have only got one Moz realted comment about it and it was positive. But some people have asked which brand it is, as it quite looks like an ordinary brand of clothes. Too bad. Really like it though, to bad I didn't afford that sweat shirt with zipper.

I've never had a problem when wearing Smiths/Moz t-shirts around town or at football. The only negative comments came from some kids at college who swore that Snow Patrol 'pish all over the Smiths"  :p
The Smiths seem to be accepted as 'cool' while Morrissey isn't.
the more you explore me!
September 25, 2006, 07:33 PM
its where you live i guess. no problems for me. my 'Your Arsenal' shirt made people confused, thinking of the football team Arsenal; as the shirt didn't have a picture of morrissey on it. i had a shirt of morrissey in the pose of terence stamp holding the glass of milk (what smiths single was it), nobody recognised him to make a comment!
The best one (comment) i had this year was when I was wearing my "ringleaders" gramaphone t shirt, and a colleague said "that's about right" meaning me "the tormentor"! ha another time another chap was telling me about a gay club he goes to and all the smiths & morrissey records they play there.
Disappointed
September 25, 2006, 07:45 PM
At the moment, I only own one Morrissey T-shirt (I know, I know, shame on me...though I got hints last night that that is soon to change, what with my birthday coming up in November :D ). I haven't yet gotten any comments on the shirt, though I wear it a fair amount.
However, last year, I took a denim jacket and sewed white letters on the back, that say "THE SMITHS", like the jacket in the video for "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before". I have gotten several compliments on it. (I practically live in the jacket when it's chilly out, so that might at least partially explain why I've had so many comments on it  )
Once, I was in a record store, and bought a Morrissey CD. I was wearing my Smiths jacket. The cashier said something like, "Well, it's no surprise that you're buying a Morrissey CD!"
All in all, I like it when random people make positive comments about whatever I'm wearing.

Last time I wore my fave Morrissey t-shirt, three people started to talk to me about Morrissey. I had a really long chat with a girl about seeing him live, and one bloke thaught it said 'Van Morrison' to start with. He then informed me that Van Morrison was better, which nearly earned him a smack in the mouth.

Being the slave to fashion that I am, Moz and Smiths T-shirts don't particularly entice me unless they're both very well made and look good as an item of clothing rather than a proclamation of my fandom.

I do not really like the whole band t-shirt 'thing'. However, if I got round to it I think having a well selected Smiths (Mozzer t-shirt ok, but Smiths is the preference) t-shirt is ok. It would need to be snug fitting, coupled with jeans...oh and the converse.
I saw a lad at uni the other day with a Moz t-shirt on in the Library, I wanted to run up and hug him...I didn't.

i used to wear band t-shirts at school and got a mix of positive and negative comments. now i'm at uni i still get a mix of positive and negative, mostly positive, probably due to the crowd i'm with now: i tend to wear my moz/smiths tees when i'm going to, say, a gig or an indie night, or if i'm hanging with friends, and i think thats why i get more positive comments about them now.

You really should the next time.
You know, wearing band shirts is a scream, a cry. A scream to the world, 'look at what I'm wearing, please notice me, especially others with the same taste. And that, I think is wonderful. Just like the smiles you get when you're wearing a Smiths/Morrissey-shirt or other band.

Being the slave to fashion that I am, Moz and Smiths T-shirts don't particularly entice me unless they're both very well made and look good as an item of clothing rather than a proclamation of my fandom.
I too fall into this character, I will only wear a Smiths/Moz t-shirt that I think I can wear with smart jeans, oh the vanity!:p
Not a fan of the t-shirts with the over-size artwork/Moz's face

There's one in the Trafford Centre!
Must admit, I've only had either positive response or no response at all to my smiths/moz tshirt wearing....(apart from my mother who thinks I'm 'far too old to still be wearing clothes with that man on!')
Ah, yes the Trafford Centre. So I could still be right.

My Smiths shirt has always served me well. I don't wear it too often so as to not destroy it, but this one time that I did, I went to Jimmy John's (awesome sandwich shop) and got a free sandwich because the manager happened to be a Smiths fan. Now THAT's a return in investment...

WHO THE HELL IS MUSE?? ;)
They are an English (I hope! - c'mon guys, help me out here...) 3-piece. They have been around for a few years now. The latest album - Black Holes & Revelations - has been out for 3-4 months and they've just done some festivals (well, a couple, at least) here in the UK.
I'm poor at describing bands, but I have previously (+ probably not originally) described them as a cross between Radiohead and Queen - sounds horrible, i know! Although i think this latest album has seen them cement their own style a bit more.
Other albums of theirs are Origins of Symmetry, Absolution and Showbiz (I may have missed one out here - I'm a little tired now).
Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea (excuse the english colloquialisms), but they are quite experimental and are doing a european (again, i think) tour over the next couple of months.
Try Absolution and the latest if you give them a listen.

I wear my 'The Queen Is Dead' shirt weekly. I also wear one my friend made for me with a pic of Boz and Alain doing funny faces. It gets a lot of attention in my town because it is cool to wear Smith's t-shirts, even if you don't listen to them. I get more comments about my Oasis vs. Blur '95 Britpop brawl T-shirt.

Apols if it's all been said before, but this post reminds me of a recent poll on the solo-site about Moz/smiths fans getting grief - even if walking down the street - for, well, just being that.
I think i answered yes to that, but my response would be, as others have said/written on here: fuck 'em. It's part + parcel of being a fan, as far as I'm concerned. You might need to be thick-skinned sometimes, but it's worth it.
As Mark Simpson cited on the back sleeve of his book, the Morrissey quote (somewhat vaingloriously, perhaps):
"Admiring me...is quite a task. Because if you say you like Morrissey, then you have to explain why."
Apols again if I've repeated others comments - not read every one in this thread.

(I may have missed one out here - I'm a little tired now).
you listed all their studio albums but missed the b-sides album "hullabaloo." but yeah you got a lot of stuff right (like the fact they are english). i'd agree that they sound like a combination of queen and radiohead, but often more like radiohead than queen - i know people who hate queen but love muse and radiohead. imagine a heavier version of "death of a disco dancer" to get a rough idea.

However I notice a lot of younger folks with Smiths t-shirts nowadays and I often wonder if its a Ramones/ Clash kind of thing rather than being a true fan? Heres a good aticle about music t-shirts actually;

Um personally I wear mine to play football in. Or down the pub in the week, though I've stopped going down the pub in the week really.
Although the Meat Is Murder t-shirt is a bona fide classic. In fact I've had shedloads over the years:
Bona Drag one (the still from November)- comment from 7 yr old Splott girl, "Oi mate is that you on your t-shirt or what?"
Your Arsenal (with We Look At Danger And We Laugh our Heads Off on the back. I gave it to a bloke in Pontins Holiday camp. We working there together. Many moons ago.)
Mozzer questionnaire 91
Mozzer Kill Uncle (playing football) - I sadly threw this out last year, 15 years together
Smiths- Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now cover
Smiths- Queen Is Dead (band shot) now only the cover one.
Smiths- Meat Is Murder
Moz- Gramophone Ringleader one
Moz- Ringleader Italian tour top.
Salford Lads Club A Light That Never Goes Out.
Moz on the Observatory shot- Boxers tour
Smiths- boy with lollipop shot.
Sadly most of these are rendered obsolete nowadays.
Best one I've seen recently is Hang The DJ one with Steve Wright's face. And the lyrics in Morrissey's handwriting on the back.

This may sound very naive, but it's coming from a brand new fan.
I live in Toronto, where nobody gives a rat's ass what anyone is wearing. I have one Smiths t-shirt, it's light blue with Hatful of Hollow on it, and I love it, but I haven't worn it in public because I just got it and it's too cold. But I will wear it with pride when spring comes.
I would love to have more Smiths/Morrissey t-shirts, and I will get more in the future.
Have you seen these?

These are unofficial designs made by people, and then sold on t-shirts and things. You may also search under Smiths, but I think you will get articles unrelated to the band as well.

I must have about 50 Smiths/Moz t-shirts from the last 17 years. I tend to wear them a lot as I like to tell the world that I LOVE The Smiths and Morrissey! :D
In the early 90's I used to get people pretending to slash their wrist when they see my t-shirts. A DJ in an Indie nighclub once told me to f*ck off cause I had a t-shirt on!
I found as time goes on, most of the younger generation haven't a clue who The Smiths and Morrissey are, but the people who do recognise them and like them actually come up to me and talk about Smiths/Moz. Most of the time I hear that 'The Smiths were far better than Moz-solo' etc....

There's one of my friends who, whenever he comes round to mine, always looks at my Moz CDs and asks:
"Who is Morrissey?"
This indicates that he has never heard of the man, and this has happened on at least three ocassions now.
Then on other occasions, when I point out to him that he has awful taste in music (which he does), he says something along the lines of:
"Well you like Morrissey!"
THE MAN DOESN'T KNOW WHO HE IS! HOW CAN HE PASS JUDGEMENT ON SOMEONE HE'S NEVER EVEN HEARD?
Who also really, really annoy me are the people who hate The Smiths despite never knowingly listened to them, but have in actual fact heard several of their songs and just not known it was them who did them. For example, most people have heard "How Soon Is Now?" but not even heard of The Smiths. So you tell them it was The Smiths who did that song and they suddenly go off it.
But still, I would hate Moz to go mainstream, if you catch my drift. If everyone liked him then it would just be strange - it wouldn't feel like his music was mine anymore, it would be like he'd just be another boring pop star with nothing of interest to sing about. Fortunately this isn't the case.
Anyway, to quote the man himself:
"I'm going on a bit now, so I'll shut up."

I bought 4 from the only gig i saw him at. Dragging my 13 yo daughter through Manchester around 11pm to get to the train station, a group of p*ssheads, saw the t-shirts and shouted asking us about the gig....and because i was holding her hand they also asked us in a NOT very nice way if we were 'gay'. I lost it and told them that she was my bloody 13 yo daughter and to keep their traps hut.(probably not a good move come to think of it, bit dangerous like, innit?)
I also went into Music Zone(looking for the Morrissey Icon greeting card and i got it) and i was wearing my ROTT tee. The guy behind the counter asked me if i had seen him live and i told him all about the gmex gig. Really nice guy.

I got stopped last year by a policewoman on my way home from college at about 7 in the night and was searched, I had no idea why, I don't look much like a hooligan! I had to take my jacket off for my routine frisking, and was interrogated about who Morrissey was, for what was literally about 20 minutes, only god knows why???? I'm sure this is what's known as above and beyond the call of duty. Otherwise I do get quite a lot of comments when I wear one of my Morrissey t-shirts, some not so nice as others, but I wear them with pride all the same.

I had to take my jacket off for my routine frisking, and was interrogated about who Morrissey was, for what was literally about 20 minutes, only god knows why???? I'm sure this is what's known as above and beyond the call of duty. Otherwise I do get quite a lot of comments when I wear one of my Morrissey t-shirts, some not so nice as others, but I wear them with pride all the same.
bwhahahah i had the same problem when i was crossing the border (Canada/US) going to Buffalo to catch my plane for LA to go see Morrissey (I figured I should wear my band shirt while traveling to the gig, but not AT the gig because that...well...that's just lame! the guy at the border (i believe he was a customs officer) questioned me WHY i was going so far to see this bloke Morrissey...he didn't get it but I got in. I don't know what relevance his style of music had on whether i get in or not...if I said "hip hop" would I have been escorted back into Canadeh? (pfff even I think a person travelling to the other side of the continent to see a hip hop concert should be banished from the society...) but yea...crazy policemen!

A good friend of mine is dating a boy who absolutely loathes Moz and the Smiths. When I would wear my old sweatshirt with a ROTT patch, he'd try to rip it off. When I wear Moz or Smiths shirts, he tries to pour things on them.
And now I've decided to challenge myself and wear a Moz-related shirt every school day for the rest of the school year. He really hates it.

Well I'd like to think that my girls at aged 14 and 12 are both virgins.
Thankfully they dont live in Wythenshawe so they should be safe.....
The Goat
Only kidding, my Mam was raised in Moss Side (before the 2nd world war) and then Wythenshawe (after the war) and wont hear a bad word said against either district!!
We don't need your sarcasm and faint praise, we have flowers and trees, windows with glass, the airport and the rolling cheshire countryside on our border. And when that twat from the Tory party came a-calling one of our brave boys gave it to him good style.

"Problems with wearing Moz tshirts?"
I wear my few on a regular basis and i almost always wear them when out in public.
main problem i have is that it is so rainy/windy here all the time that tshirts usually get lost under 10 coats or so!
Oh and the local town is chave central so i get some odd looks, but i dont care, i just undo my zipper a little more (the coat the coat nowt else! lol) so that its more prominent.
I'm happy that peeps dont come upto me and talk about it as i can spot a genuine fan in one sentence and anyone else gets a cold shoulder.
I did however once have a guy serving me in M&S and he was going on about how he ,et him ages ago as his aunty used to be Moz's teacher, when i asked him if he was a FAN, he said "oh no too miserable for me, and he didnt even like my aunt!" LOL
I think he was
A) fibbing
B) a sandwich short of a picnic.

I wear my Morrissey/Smiths shirts quite often. Usually I get no responce from anyone which figures. Though I have a Smiths where is says Hang the DJ on the back. People will comment on that.

Me and a couple of pals were drunk one night and decided to play that daft game where you stick a piece of paper to your head with a stars name on it and have to guess who it is.
I chose Morrissey, then Mikey pipes up and says "thats cheating, Morrissey is a make"
I asked him what he was on about and he said "well its written across your t-shirt"
What a dafty considering I have Morrissey posters all over my house.

Strangers don't say anything anymore, probably because of my age and size. But a work colleague asked if I was 'going a bit gay' when I wore a Smiths T.
This person was wearing a 'scissor sisters' T:D and loves 'Anthony and The Johnsons'.
Oh, the Irony.

Oh I dunno. I've considered becoming 'a bit gay."
Usually at times of promiscuity/ desperation as gay men allegedly don't have the hang-ups that straight blokes do!
(AND THAT IS WHAT IS KNOWN AS A STEREOTYPE before everyone gets up in arms. Its political correctness gone mad  )

the only remarks i have gotten are from my teachers at my high school.
my spanish teacher was very enthusiastic about it and said "hey, morrissey! you know, i was just playing that smiths song at home yesterday, you know that song, "hang the dj hang the dj..."!" he was very pleased when i made a morrissey poster for one of our projects!
the other teacher was like "what? you listen to morrissey? really? you really listen to morrissey (and he made this confused face), i prefer his old band" then he burst into bigmouth strikes again and knew every word, by this time the whole class was looking at me and i was red as a beat :o

First off, it looks like we share a name. Second, I HAVE A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE!
First day of school, Contemporary World Affairs. My teacher says, "go around the room and say your full name and something that you like to do." When it got to me, I said my name and "I enjoy spending all of my time listening to Morrissey." He says, "Morrissey? You mean...the Smiths?!" "YES!" By the end of the class hour, my iPod was hooked to his computer, and he was singing along and dancing to "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before." We exchanged CDs and tapes, and discussed Moz a lot throughout the semester. He was really excited when I got to go and see him in Chicago, and we also spent a lot of time talking about that. As well as Pink Floyd and Rush, but that's a different story, haha.

I only have one Morrissey T-shirt, one from the Ringleader tour with that picture of him in Rome that is prominently featured on True to You. This one: http://true-to-you.net/files/pictures/morrissey_in_rome_2.jpg
The only real response I got from it was from my cousin who claims to hate Morrissey (but I have my doubts about that ;)) saying: "I don't care for the open shirt thing and his pose, but other than that the shirt itself is nice"

Most people just look puzzled, however if anyone gave me shit for wearing one I'd give them a sound thrashing on Morrissey's behalf. My biggest problem with Morrissey shirts is A-Availibilty-they're hard to find, and B-What to wear to see him live? Anyone in the indie scene knows you're not supposed to wear the shirt of the act you're seeing. I wore a Siouxsie one as an acknowledgement of "Interlude." (And because I like Siouxsie.)

DUH, what a plank! LOL
why would anyone wear a shirt with the makers name across the front anyhow? isnt that classed as advertising? and does one get paid to do so?
