you are 5 hours ahead of me. right now its 7:45am and i leave work at 8. so...i'll sleep sometime between 8:30am and 10pm when i have to go back to work. lately ive been falling asleep as soon as i get home, and getting up late afternoon. but for a while i was falling asleep early afternoon and getting up right before leaving for work. i dunno, its weird. this schedule takes some getting used to but ive been doing it for about 4 months now i guess? and its only 4 days out of the week, so i try to get on a normal schedule the other 3 days.

Interesting stuff. i knew that Britain still had loads of banned films. i have seen a few off that list (Evil Dead is a favourite of mine!) but the only one that really disterbed me was Texas Chainsaw. i would not watch that again.

TC was disturbing to me because of the texture and graininess of the film. That might sound dumb, but it made the film worse for me. I haven't seen the whole thing. Many people around here swear that it was based on a true story, but it wasn't, except for maybe Ed Gein.

I wouldn't reccomend TCM, it was really, really unplesant. I don't think it helped that I dozed off part way through and I woke up and it was still on. I was babysitting for a friend and I was all alone watching this film...*shudders*. I am a bit of a wuss about horror films these days, i used to love them!

Evil Dead: I don't know why, that bit didn't bother me, maybe only because it was unrealistic (I realise this should not be a reason, and I actually havn't seen a Clockwork Orange becuase I read part of it and it was just too much for me, so really Evil Dead I should put in the same catagory)

Canibal Holocaust is actually the only one on the list I would quite like to see. I don't know why, I doubt I'd make it all the way through, but something about it has always fascenated me. I've seen bits of it. Have you seen it?

I didn't want to watch it, but my friend insisted because it's a double bill with "American Graffiti".
I don't recommend it if you're under 18.
If you're an adult it's OK. It's not as scary as TCM.

No ma'am, I have not seen it, but I have read reviews of it and seen pictures of the impalement scene. I kind of want to see it too, but I know I wouldn't be able to stand it. One time I went to Barnes and Noble, and they had a copy of Cannibal Ferox.

I have seen a bit of Clockword Orange, but just the rape scene. I wouldn't want to watch the rest of it.

Rosemary's Baby is nasty. So is The Exorcist. My dad took me to see that (and I'm guessing I wasn't quite 18 at the time) and it scared me to death, but you do really need to see that at the cinema. And I've read it too, which might have made it scarier. The only film I cannot watch is Blair Witch, because i believe in stuff like that. I had awful nightmares, never, ever again.

Yep, A Clockwork Orange's rape scene really trumatized me...whenever I saw Malcolm McDowell's photos on mags I was terrified for a while.

Some less graphically violent films such as Rosemary's Baby are disturbing.

The Blair Witch Project was so scary because I thought it was real! Also the fact that people are trapped in the woods and being stalked and traumatized by some unseen force gives it a sense of being helpless, which I find very scary in movies.

to make one book out of his childhood is fair enough,
A trilogy is just making money from something that for some people is so traumatic they could possibly never be able to bring it up let alone write about it.

However, I suppose it is possible that it was sort of theraputic to write it. I do find it strange that he was willing to share such private information with the world, but who am I to judge?

for example if say the first book which he is entitled to write etc, (everybody can write one sob story about themselves..) did really well and people want him to write more, if he really wanted to be a writer he could surely do a fiction novel etc rather than ring out the pain of some more memories...i just dont think it's healthy?
Also my mum like REALLY loves books like that and it scares me because it is a complete morbid fascination? People only read books like that to make themselves feel better, they don't give a toss about "timmy" or "jimmy" or whoever, they just read how bad their life was, compare it to their own, feel better about themselves and trundle on, it's actually pretty selfish...

I think that the aftermath of writing the book had to be pretty unhealthy, with people asking you questions and giving interviews...

As for me, I thought I had a shitty life, I read the book, and decided I didn't have it so bad after all. So I guess it was selfish of me in a way. I was also fascinated and disgusted that someone could do that to their own child, but sadly I wasn't shocked.

So in the book, Satan is scaly?

So far as I can recall (can't lay my hands on the book right now), he's scaly. And Mia Farrow crying "This isn't a dream! This is really happening!" as she's served up as a vessel for Satan's seed, sort of stays with you, doesn't it? Brrrrr!

child abuse isn't always as apparent, and they're the worst cases as they can continue albeit through fear, shame or ignorance.

TMZ has learned that Paris Hilton has not only had her sentence cut short, she is already out of jail!

Unimpeachable sources tell TMZ the deal was sealed yesterday, and that Hilton made her exit early early this morning.

She was originally sentenced to 45 days in jail, but that was reduced to 23. She served a total of five days -- the normal stay for a violation of this kind. Her five days began Sunday night and concluded early Thursday morning.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department will hold a news conference in an hour to discuss what went down.

UPDATE 10:16: LA County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says that Paris Hilton has been fitted for an ankle bracelet and put under house arrest for the next 40 days, after authorities decided to release Paris from jail due to medical reasons. She got out of jail just after 2:00 AM.

Steve Whitmore: Click to watchWhitmore says he cannot release details about Paris' "medical issue" due to confidentiality, but said that medical officials "constantly examined" her while she was in jail.

Paris will be under house confinement in her West Hollywood home for 40 days. After the 40 days are up, Whitmore says she will have "fulfilled her debt to society."

Whitmore says he cannot release details about Paris' medical issue due to confidentiality.

Bloody hell! What happened?

two weeks ago he wouldn't get up for school so i picked him up out of his bed, stood him up and he flopped on teh floor, throwing a tantrum, i got hold of his pj top and dragged him up off the floor. It marked his neck. Two minutes later he was fine, he got dressed and was ok. He went to school and at the end of the day i got a phonecall. His headteacher asked me about the mark on his neck and i told her what i did. She also told me that that was what Kyle said, but she told me that she had to log it and that she had to send it to the welfare services. Tuesday this week i got a letter telling me i was getting a home visit on wed. He never showed up, but he came today and told me that i committed a criminal assault on my son. He told me that the school went about it the wrong way because they didn't report it till two days after. By the time the social services were informed it was too late. He told me that if they had told them on the day, that the police would have been involved and Kyle would have had a medical and that i woul dhave been arrested and cautioned and probably charged with criminal assault. I now have to go on a positive parenting course....*sigh*

She was 4 yrs old and wouldn't go to bed, he told her to get to bed and she told him to F off, he said he snapped and chased her up the stairs and slapped her really hard on her bum, that it left a hand print for up to 3 weeks....like that's suppossed to make me feel better. He said that it's only human to make mistakes and lose our temper. I honestly say that i will be afraid for a long time and i shall not lose my temper anywhere near my son. My girls are so upset.

No, i wasn't saying that at all! Tell me about it. I hold my hands up and i was thinking that if i had been arrested i could have kissed goodbye to my career in nursing. Selfish i know.:o I do feel that there are far too many books out there at the mo about children being abused and it seems that it's getting worse. It's the worst feeling in the world, knowing that i have been tarred with that brush. Hence my drinking a bottle of wine and that my son is at my mum's....
