For myself and Mrs. Seeker, we are going to see Nitzer Ebb tonight. And later in the month Godsmack/Rob Zombie.

If you will be at the NE show, I'll be the guy in the black shirt.:)

The Cult. You know those things that seem like a really good idea when you've had a couple of drinks, and September seems like [I]ages [I]away? And then, before you know it, you've spent a fourtune on a ticket to a band you didn't really like very much 10 (or more) years ago? Oh dear......... I'm sure it'll be fine, I'll just get drunk.

Probably Håkan Hellström, 22/9 at Lisebergshallen, one of his few gigs this year but I'm far from sure, depend on the price and the people.

I'm also hoping for that The Locust shall return for another wonderfull concert.

I just saw Kitty, Daisy and Lewis live!!
Awesome family!! Their parents are also part of the act(mother plays woodbase and father plays guitars), it's like a house party. I was so lucky to see their live and managed to get their autographs!! It was free because it's a launch party of Sean Rowley's club night. I'd love to see their live again.

Boz should play with his children and Lyn when he's not busy touring.:)

Get really really pissed!!! And then you'll love it. Especially when they do She Sells Sanctuary!

As for me, British Sea Power tomorrow and a support band called The Seal Cub Clubbing Club which is the best name for a band ever!

Oh and then We Are Trees, the Other Smiths (fucking love it butt!) and The Walkmen. And maybe the Bluetones
Thats about the only good thing about the students coming back!! Gigs start back up again!

Kasabian in Bournemouth with my six year old son in December.
He cant wait and neither can I, but I have to say that after repeated listening,Empire is no where near as good as the debut album and is a bit of a disapointment really.(Now I know why Chris Karloff left)
Still,I`ve heard that Kasabian are much better live than studio so hopefully those new songs lacking in any tune or melody will sound good then.

No "I told you so" please, after I initially praised the album, lol.

The Back Room and Hot Fuss are miles better although they are debut`s too so maybe the same thing will happen to them on the second album?
We wont have long to find out either in the case of the latter...I just hope not,I just hope not!

Roll on December anyway.

UPDATE

I didnt know Sparks were touring until I saw mspendl828`s post as I haven`t paid much attention to them recently what with so much good new music to listen to.

So, now I`m off to see Sparks with my boy in two weeks in Brighton ( thankfully they weren`t sold out).
He doesnt even know yet being at school and I cant wait to tell him. He`s going to be delighted (and so am I)

Thanks mspendl828.

I have 2 gigs also lined up so far in November for the band The Machine.
(www.themachinelive.com) They are a Pink Floyd cover band but, they are such excellent musicians not to mention down-to-earth men. 11/24 & 11/25.

I have quite a few local gigs on the weekends lined up too. You see, I go to Philly and NYC to small venues to see locals, unsigned bands and smaller bands perform. I do a weekly checking up on ticketmaster, stub hub and the venue's sites to see what's happening. It's quite a lot of research weekly but for me, well worth the work!

Arethey on tour or something? Or is this just a one-off Bizarre venue must be said!

They've kind of done a mini-tour - had three dates in Devon to warm up for their Electric Proms gig in London. It's the first time they've played together live. If you think The Cavern was a odd venue you should see the other two - East Prawle and Iffracombe! Apparently Albarn has a house down here and spends most of his time here.

Someone please post about The Good, The Bad and The Queen after this gig...I want to know.

I have to say they were excellent. Paul Simonon has a great stage presence and the band were surprisingly tight considering it was only their second ever gig. Albarn didn't do the band justice when people shouted out requests to a song already played and said "Again? Well, we could do with the practise". They played the whole of their new album in order and were on stage for about 50mins with no encore - I guess they have nothing else to play! They certainly have a large Clash influence with some reggae undertones, but luckily it doesn't produce bad ska. I have to agree with someone who said it resembled 13 era Blur. Overall I can't wait for to album to come out in the new year. Even though it's produced by Dangermouse it sounds nothing like Gorillaz - live at least.

Probably my weirdest night in Exeter, with so many top musicians in what we call "the talentless void know as the Cavern", and Don Letts even filmed it. To top it off I got a picture with both Damon Albarn and Paul Simonon. Never thought that would happen, especially in Exeter!

Hey,
I just went to the NY Dolls gig on Saturday! Here's a small post of what I seen:

Hey,

This gig was fantastic!
We saw 5 bands in 4 hours!
Here are some links to the bands that opened for the Dolls. I'd have to say that Personality Crisis was my favorite track they played. They all looked great and were in good spirits!

http://www.the-frantic.com/
http://www.thecharms.net/home.htm
http://www.thechesterfieldkings.com/...into_1001a.htm
http://www.supersuckers.com/

I had a 'pleasure' of the lead singer of the Chesterfield Kings to come over to the bar area where my friend Pete and me were sitting and serenade us. I was sitting in the last seat but, the closest to the stage/speakers. I was embarassed but, I smiled and nodded. The lead singer walked through the audience, danced on the bar countertop and bent up the microphone post. Nice interaction.

The NY Dolls were awesome as expected. They seemed to be enjoying themselves b/c of their smiles and interaction w/ us (the fans).

Great gig and I'm glad I had the chance to go. If you have an opportunity, go for it.

-----On a side note, I have the gig of The Bravery & Radio 4 this week. I was told that there was another band actually playing but, it's up in the air. So, when I go on Thursday, I'll see. Just like that what happened w/ when I went to the gig this past Saturday. I had NO clue that 4 other bands were playing but, I was really pleasantly surprised! :)

I saw Rilo Kiley Saturday night. It was half-good. The old songs were great... but what's this crap on their new album? "The Moneymaker" is complete phlegm! I hadn't heard the new album yet, and judging by the songs they played from it, I don't think I'll be giving it a listen anytime soon.

Having said that, the songs from "More Adventurous" and "The Execution of All Things" were magnificent, and Jennie's voice was in great form. I'm just disappointed that they seem to be transforming into Gwen Stefani-esque commercial crap before my very eyes.

Ah well, next new band please...

i´m probably seeing some bands this weekend, but what really counts is that i´m seeing Don McLean next week at the Royal Albert Hall! if i´m really lucky, i might be able to see Paul McCartney the day before, but i think it´s sold out and i couldn´t afford it, so i´d have to sneak in..

I'm supposed to be going to see My Chemical Romance in Newcastle on Sunday, but my health may well prevent me from going. The ticket won't go to waste, though. :)

I'm also hoping to see Sons and Daughters in Hull at the end of the month.

I don't really, but we decided that as the teenagers needed transport to get there, we'd do it as a family. Me and Stig - the Oldest Moshers in Town! Perfect embarrassing parents. :D

I made it! We had a great night. The vocals were a bit overwhelmed; I'm not sure whether young Mr Way was a bit out of voice or whether the mixing desk was at fault. But the band gave it loads and the crowd were bouncy and friendly. The support, Mindless Self-Indulgence, were great fun, too, even if the (admittedly very hard-working) front-man was as irritating as hell between songs.

Bright Eyes - Nov. 19th NYC

Conor Oberst is one of my favorite singer/songwriters, but live he can be such a mess.

I'm hoping he manages not to fall into the audience this time, or knock over any equipment. I wouldn't mind it if he handed me his guitar, though.

Waiting now for U2 to come around again.

Past few months I have seen
Morrissey twice, Beastie Boys, Jimmy Buffett twice and the Police. My concert budget is tapped for awhile.

Rumors have it though that Billy Joel is touring next year and will close out Shea Stadium. Long term plans would say that I would have to be a part of that. (It's a Long Island thing)

Is Springsteen coming your way? My friend saw him recently at United Center (Chicago) and said he was awesome. Altho showing his age -I guess someone threw a hankerchief on stage and "he was like an old man bending over to pick it up". I had the nerve to ask him if anyone invades the stage (moz on the brain). Ha! He was like ...what?...um, no.... Anyway, Bruce closed with Born to Run and Thunder Road. nice.

I missed Bruce... wanted to see him and was not able to get tickets at a decent price. I may catch him on the return loop of the tour... There are a couple of bands I would like to see as I am curious to see them live and would see them at the ticketmaster price of the ticket. I would not buy the ticket on the secondhand market.

I just had to say, because I am still so pleased by it, that last night, Against Me! was awesome!!!!

I managed to get right up close, right in front of the singer Tom Gabel who by the way...hubba hubba :D

And although I was thrashed around by a mostly teenage crowd, it was totally worth it. Nothing like angry, political, punk that actaully means something to get the blood flowing and the anger out of your body. Excellent show. I highly recomend seeing them if possible!

And here is Tom by the way (If only people here gave a crap, I'd make a frink for him... :D:D
