Cheers, we might pluck up the courage to actually walk through the door this time.

SarahT - why the panic? (ho hum! - sorry, couldn't resist; I'll get me coat...)
seriously tho' - do you mean you wanted to go, but didn't?
It's a good nite but I'm sure Aly would welcome more people - we're a friendly crowd. Get yerself to the next one on 29 Sept.
Also - if you're Leeds-based, why not go to The Roscoe on 13 August for The Smyths?

The whole area was full of pissed students in fancy dress, the queue was a mile long but that was to get into the pub and we couldn't see where you had to go. Plus we really wanted a drink so made a quick decision to go somewhere else. Do you have to go into a separate entrance? I will come to the next one and will try to get to the New Roscoe.

Barfield is a fictional name. They once made a film in my hometown starring Diana Dors and they re-named the place Barfield.

The Library is on the Otley Run, that's why downstairs is full of tossers. Panic is on upstairs and you can get in without queing, they might have the other door open next time or it might not be as busy downstairs.

The upstairs is generally full of tossers as well ;)

Hello sarahT
It's an upstairs room that holds probably 100 (I'm not too good with numbers) comfortably, maybe less. There's a little stage + a Smiths trib band played there earlier this year (March, probably - Smiths Indeed).
When I arrived at probably 10.15-10.30, there was no queue at the front door to the pub (on the main road - think it's the A660/Woodhouse Lane). We just walked in, asked where the disco was, walked towards the rear of the pub and up a flight of stairs.
I'm quite puzzled as to the queue you saw - the pub (downstairs) wasn't even busy when we were there; nor was it full upstairs. Strange people? I really can't imagine - perhaps aly can answer that one.
As you can guess, the Panic crowd is a mix. I'm 45 but don't feel out of place re my age - the age group is mixed, and I think that's a good thing. It can feel slightly clique-y at first, but only slightly, and this very much depends on the demeanour of the individual as to how quickly they get to know others, doesn't it?
Trouble is - with all these pseudonyms, how will we all know who's who on the nite? Except Uncleskinny, of course - everyone seems to know him!
Cheers

Perhaps we could all turn up in full evening dress with a rose clenched between our teeth.
That should narrow it down a bit.
Do the people that go all post on here or are they all a bit more normal?
With regards to the students I think they may have all broken up for the holidays that night and that's why they were a bit more lairy than usual.
I don't want to sound like I hate students, it was just hot and packed out everywhere, we couldn't get a drink and we just thought ''Ah bugger it let's go somewhere else''
