New York City 'Everyday is Like Sunday' Night

anyone been to the "Everyday Is Like Sunday" night at the Denizen Lounge. I remember them coming here a couple years ago when it first started to advertise. If i remember correctly it's not as heavy on Smiths and Morrissey as compared to Sway, but still, as the name suggests, they do play moz and smiths and music liek that.

Well i noticed in the last issue of L Magazine that they still have this night. I thought they stopped it simply because i don't hear about it. Anyone been to? how is it?

Never heard of it, Puddle. Where is the Denizen Lounge? Do you have any info on the venue, cover charge, etc? Is it a dancing type thing or more of a sitting and drinking type thing (any idea?)?

Trash at Bar Rififi in the East Village on Fridays is dancey and pretty Moz/related-heavy. I think I might go this week.

i think just sitting and chilling. t that's what i imagine since it's a 'lounge'...but names don't mean much these days. i think they have a website i remember chekcing out. or maybe that was sway i was checking out many months ago.

so you going to Rififi? i think i was there for an after show party back in may 2004. it's a small place...right?

Hey Puddle, yeah I think I'll go to Rififi so long as tonight doesn't run too late... I'm mixing music right now and the hours are passing fast; might get enough sleep to dance tomorrow, might not.

Rififi isn't really that small, at least not for NYC - it has a front room with a bar and some small benches/tables, and a back room with a proper dancefloor and mini-stage. I was pretty impresssed with its size really, given that it's just a bar on E 11th St.

Trash is at Rififi on Fridays, and when I last went, it was specifically Morrissey-themed, but I think that in general they do the britpop/indie thing.

Everyday is Like Sunday at Denizen sounds kinda interesting, though I don't know anything about the venue. I just sent you an email.
