View Full Version : Morrissey Rarities
Mada

Does anyone have any Morrissey rarities? Live covers? Unreleased songs? Bits of unreleased songs?
The only rare (or not so rare) things I have are:
Honey You Know Where To Find Me
Kit (Performed by Boz Boorer)
Ganglord
I Know Very Well How I Got My Note Wrong
November the 2nd (Remix of November Spawned a Monster)
Trash (live cover of New York Dolls)
Drive-In Saturday (live Bowie cover)
Does anyone have anything they'd consider rare?
I'd really love to hear and collect some more Moz rarities, so if anyone has anything they could upload I'd be grateful.
Take care,
- Mada

Well, I'm not so sure what's considered rare in the file-sharing age... but you can take a look at the list on Passions Just Like Mine (http://www.passionsjustlikemine.com/moz-w.htm)
And if you need anything from there let me know... the only ones I'm missing are Journalists Who Lie, Oh Well I'll Never Learn, Skin Storm, There Speaks A True Friend, You Must Please Remember and You've Had Her.

Yeah, the one from the Miraval Sessions is instrumental... but Mr Reynolds shared with us a version with vocals... you know where to find it.

You can use websites such as: YouSendIt (http://www.yousendit.com/) and MegaUpload (http://www.megaupload.com/)
Then just follow the basic instructions ... :)
I myself also have a few bits and pieces that some may find interesting - I'll upload some tomorrow if I can ;)

Thank you very much!!
I paid for a Miravel sessions CD off e-bay, only to find it was all instrumentals from Alain, Gaz and the lads! Moz wasn't even in the country, probably!!! LOL
Thanks again, I'll download and take a listen.

If you're interested in stuff from that period there's also the acoustic demo (with vocals) of Reader Meet Author (from Mr Reynold's treasures vault as well)... I can upload it if you don't have it.

I'm very interested, kind sir....Southpaw Grammar is amongst his best albums, in my opinion. I'd love to hear the acoustic demo of Reader Meets Author if it were possible.
I wonder if we shall ever see an outtakes/rarities compilation in Mozza's lifetime?

Heh... I think that this is the first time in my life that someone called me "kind sir"... I'm so flattered. I agree with you that Southpaw is underrated... though I find it outrageous that Nobody Loves Us was left out... and released only as a B-side to... oh my god... Dagenham Dave... what was he thinking? Oh well. Anyway, here is the Reader Meet Author thingy:

yeah, I quite liked it actually! It obviously isn't something Moz would ever pen, but I thought it sounded like something he might cover. I'd like to hear him sing it for real.

Oh thanks for this! I wasn't aware it was available with vocals. My speakers on this pc are a bit useless so it's hard to make out the vocals - is it definitely him? The melody is so weak.

Yeah, handwritten lyrics to this are available aren't they? I have scans of them and some other track in a folder I downloaded with all the Minerval sessions in. It does sort of sound like someone took the music and the lyrics and made a Morrissey song out of it, vocals and all. (Unless the lyrics are fake too).
I wouldn't be able to be more confident until I hear it on better speakers though.

It's real. As far as I know there's a general consensus about Mr Reynolds' uploads being as authentic as can be. Sounds real too.

thank you very much - downloading it now.
i didn't know that Moz wasn't on the tracks...but that's OK. I downloaded that "Honey You Know Where to Find Me" track the other night which featured his vocals and i was under the impression that the track was from these same sessions, along with Laughing Anne and others I do not possess...some fan i am.
