How did you get such a nice recording?
What equipment did you use, how did you get it in the theater, technique, etc...?
I'd love to be able to do as good of a job with the Fall tour if Moz makes it back to the US.

Equipment used was...

Sony 1GB Mini Disc>Sony MZ-NH600 MD in PCM Mode>Sony ECM-719 Active Mic>
MD to PC Transfered with Sonic Stage 3.2>Mastered,Fade in/Out with Sound Forge 7

Some tips...

Getting in...Security guys only have X amount of time per person.
So last night I went in as about 40 people approched the door.
MD and mic were in my pants (no boxers u need elastic to hold it all in
Always see 1st where on people the guys are checking, usually arms & legs.
I also wore combat trousers with so many pockets and stuff in them that after frisking my legs taking out my phone/glasses case/wallet/keys the guy just wanted to see the back of me.

In the venue...Go to loo set up your gear (know your buttons in the dark).
Don't clip on your mic til the lights dim. Remember front doesn't mean a good recording, best is the around soundboard I think, although last night it was to close to the main hall entrance and the security guys. Stay away from screamers and tell your friends not to say things like "You want a pint?).

Oh and always use fresh batteries, take a spare disc and know your setlist so you can change discs if need be, e.g. most bands take a 5 minute gap before the 1st encore.
Seems a lot but after you've done 1 or 2 the worst part is getting in.
