Well I have 2 questions.

Number 1, regardiing your post on the civil war in Spain, was the Catholic church supporting Franco for all intents and purposes?

Well, Christy Moore sings a song a line of which says
"when the bishops blessed the blueshirts in Dun Laoghaire.."
Blueshirts = Irish Fascists

The point of my post was that the very First Garda Commissioner went on to form the Blueshirts upon his dismissal
