Am I allowed back in, after last time?
I've been barred from so many now, I kept remember the venues.

Apologies...should have read "can't remember"

Mind you Freudian slip, maybe they were "kept" in the memory after all, although I can't remember them.

Yes Grimo Dear, I do believe I require another Earls Court, only mine has a scratch on, probably due to the unfortunate position it took in my handbag.
Also, anything from Dublin? Any dvd's if not cd would be brill, I had to pay for the privilege of listening outside. Then again, better than the other alternative (night in a Dublin jail...just for being...never mind though eh?
)

Shitty scumbags .......

Anyway Grimo...

Any reply?

SF, bloody hell I'd just done an EC, ffs that must be some voodoo that you do do so well, eh? This one must have your name on it . I've not sorted the Dubbers cd because having listened to it, it's missing some of the last song before the encore (ffs) a little faux pas courtesy of a mate!

Steve Miller Band did name a tune after me, although they still won't admit it.
Also, Santana "Black Magic Woman", never did get the credit I deserved.
Anyway, I'll trade you a few effiigies of whomsoever you desire....black candles included of course!

Miss Misery this is a little bit off subject, but did you know the band The Katydids have a song called "Miss Misery". The Katydids were from the early 1990's. American I believe, but I won't hold that against them.

LOF, who I guess isn't the only librarian on this board.

No I've never heard it. Elliot Smith I think wrote the song, it shows up on the Good Will Hunting soundtrack. What are The Katydids like? Seems to me that I've heard the band name before, but I can't place them.

Funny, my username isn't really to do with a song, it's just something that popped into my head when I was trying to come up with a name. I just liked the way it sounded and how it looked on the page. Reckon maybe it had something to do with HKIMN, who knows!

Ah! I know nothing of the Kaydids other than their debut single 'Lights Out(Read my lips)' that I recorded off of the radio in the summer of 1990. I used to religiously record Gary Crowley's Sunday shows cos he'd play loads of terrific indie stuff - Popguns, Shop Assistants, Soup Dragons, Stone Roses, Primal Scream, Motorcycle Boy, Shamen, Fall, Farm etc etc etc. I liked the sound of the Katydids but the song really was pop and not 'rock' ie very light so I suspect I would never have gone to see them live.

I've just looked them up on the internet and I see that the single as well as their debut album was produced by my favourite Londoner Nick Lowe [did I ever mention that I recognised him in a pub in Brentford once? - I tell everyone]. The sound of 'Lights out', on reflection bares resemblance to Nick Lowe's 'Half a Boy and Half a Man'. Nice.

They also did another song titled "The Boy Who's Never Found". A very Smiths sounding title. There was nothing really remarkable about the band. Slightly above average I guess. 1990 was when the Sundays released their second album so I would have had that on my hi-fi most of the time. I only really thought of "Miss Misery" (the song) when I played the Katydids for the first time in about eight years last weekend.

Thanks guys! They're still not ringing any bells, but if they're rather average then I won't put them on my 'track it down' list. I do think I should get some Elliot Smith (RIP) though, he's one artist I've criminally neglected over the years.
