i dont recall in any interview that any memeber of the smiths liked these groups...if you dont listen to them and dont like them, how could they change your musical path?

Morrissey was a huge Patti Smith fan. Marr claims Moz was a huge Ramones fan. Moz approached Tom Verlaine to work with him early in the Moz-solo days. And Moz recalls seeing Iggy in the 70's. It's all through the interviews and Mr Rogan's books.
