We all love Morrissey and the Smiths, but has anyone realy enjoyed Southpaw Grammer or Malajusted? These two albums have their momments, but even the most psyhopathic Morrissey fan must admit these two albums are sub standard considering Moz's legacy....

Vauxhal and I and Maljusted for example. There a shocking difference in his lyricism, Vauxhal and I is amazing...malajusted seems like some kind of joke...Papa Jack...The one about Mike Joyce...etc etc etc

Southpaw I could have done without, but I thought Maladjusted was ok. Maybe it was just me being excited to have a new album. At least it was closer to his other stuff that Southpaw.

I liked Southpaw. Thought it was an interesting direction. There are some good tunes on that album. Only one or two that could be argued to be plain ol' bad, in my opinion. Even 'Teachers...' (which I originally loated and would skip over) has grown on me over the years. Very powerful.

I have been thinking about this and I think it has something to do with moz moving to LA, although I dont know where he was living during the production of these albums...Maybe his last before these two Vauxhal and I and all the shit that happened to him during this period the deaths pf mick ronson and his manager ..I think someone else died too...maybe..I mean vauxhall was pretty dark so maybe after that , that was it... on the albums that follow this one, whenever he is being maudlin it almost seems like satire it rings so untrue.. Maybe he should move back to machester and watch corrie isntead of the price is right.... fsnf c

It was an interesting direction, just not one that really liked. There are some good songs, but it is by far my least favorite Morrissey album. The b-sides were better than the regular cuts, but then again that happens a lot huh?

Maladjusted is definitely mediocre compared to his previous recordings. As for Southpaw -- it has grown on my somewhat, but the whole album is full of "filler". It seems quite lazy. Look at the length of the tracks! It's ridiculous. A drum solo for 'The Operation'? Is this Metallica or Morrissey? I despise drum solos more than life itself. That is such a great song though -- just skip the bullshit.

I kinda like the new songs he put out during the last tour. Granted they are nowhere near Vauxhall, Your Arsenal, Viva Hate..., but still not bad. If he would put out an album I don't care where he would live, but if Manchester holds the key, then I am all for his migration.

I LOVED SOUTHPAW GRAMMAR. I felt he finally let the band let loose and it worked out beautifully. From beginning to end, it is a musically inclined CD. Rocky guitars and more solos... A great ending as well with Southpaw (the last track). Anyone who can actually say that they do not like this album must think that Morrissey shouldn't change his sound. Sure we would love if more sounded like Your Arsenal (meaning with current band) but the new songs he performed onhis last tour very good as well... Perhaps you'd liek to hear more of that?

I would still rather listen to Southpaw Grammar and Malajusted than say Nickleback.. What I'm saying is in comparison to his earlier work..these two albums are very poor and do not stand up to close scrutinty unlike pretty much all of his previous work especialy the stuff he did with the Smiths.

Okay, so I guess I'm a psychopathic Moz fan, but I LOVE both albums. I very much enjoy Maladjusted and Southpaw. There are GREAT songs on both albums, Trouble loves, me, Southpaw, The boy racer, Satan rejected my soul, Alma Matters, and yes I love Roy's Keen too! I enjoy all sides and moods of Morrissey. I'm going to go be my psychopathic self now. Later!

Come on....he cant keep up the pace he once did.Face it, Viva hate was the apex of his solo career. Boys and girls there is nowhere to go but down.

All those songs are indeed superb. Yn fy marn i, Southoaw is Moz's second best album, Maladjusted is his 2nd worst.
