this whole attack on Lott is hypocritical. I'm sure his politics were known to his constituency and to the other members of congress and were fully supported because anyone can see his voting record and look at any statements he's made regarding the issues, and he still made it up the food chain and kept getting re-elected. However, he made the mistake of verbalizing the motivation behind how people behave.

Just like the good people of New Jersey knew Bob Toricelli's record of bribes, big screen tvs, gold bracelets and they still voted for him to represent the Democratic Party in the Senate Race. Too bad for Trent Lott, even if he does resign, and probably a Democrat would be chosen to replace him, Cheney would get the deciding vote. Although I did hear Jumpin Jim Jeffords expressed an interest in rejoining the Republicans.

Trent lott IS a bad guy. Fuck the people who re-elect him in the deep south. Americans may vote Republican and think, "what's the big deal?" but the rest of the world is looking at you, shaking their heads and thinking "WHAT A FUCKED UP, STUPID COUNTRY!"

I agree Suzanne, atleast now all African American's know where he's coming from. They are always saying they'd rather know who thier enemy rather than the ones who hide behind a facade of being a 'friend'. It's so wrong to force Lott to apologize when you know he truly doen't mean it!

Yeah, because there's no racism problem anywhere else....

What's weird to me is that no one seems to care that Lott has said some hardcore
anti-gay statements in recent years, such as comparing homosexuals to compulsive shoplifters. I guess that's perfectly respectable to say in 2002 when you're in the Senate......

That whole thing with being into the Confederate flag and all that southern bullshit makes me sick. I guess Jefferson Davis is a big Lott hero. Lott and any other American who is into that shit is treasonous. Maybe now they'll be forced to take those fucking confederate flags down from government buildings. And burn 'em.
