Been reading STSYL - Unloveable was nearly going to be on QID but Vicar In A Tutu pushed it out. I think that's a shame, I love Unloveable. Anyone else agree that it should have been on instead of Vicar? Imagine it between TBWTTIHS and TIALTNGO. Bliss!

I dunno, I like Viacr in a Tutu a lot and I think it probably fits better within the rest of the ablum. Also, its always special to discover fantastic B-sides like Unloveable.
Another solution could've been if The Smiths had really pushed the boat out and actually had ELEVEN songs on one album. Never mind unloveable, that would have been UNTHINKABLE!!!!!!!!!

I'm with you on that one- I never was a big fan of Vicar in a Tutu and I honestly don't think it does a lot for the album.
Likewise, I was listening to 'Strangeways' with a warm beer last night and could'nt help thinking how Paint a Vulgar Picture is at least 100 times better than 'Stop Me..' and at least a 1000 times better than Last Night I Dreamt somebody Loved Me- yet both of these have been dubiously titled "The Best Of" by some old fool or other.
Anyone with me on this?

I adore 'Unloveable'! It's probably my 3rd favorite song. It's highly underrated and would have loved to hear it on QID. I don't mind 'Vicar..' really but 'Unloveable' is far more superior.

I'd put Unloveable in my top 20 definitely. Weird that it's one of the few songs in STSYL that actually gets slagged off!!!?

Yep! I am Dave.I honestly think "Last Night" was the weakest Smiths single and is one of "those" songs that has helped heap the lazy journalistic tag of "miserablists" onto The Smiths.
The best thing about "Strangeways" though is that overlooked classic "I won't share You".
