Has anyone done drugs and listened to Morrissey? Besides smokin the boring old reefer or popping a few xanax while drifting to sleep.

I suppose Morrissey doesn't really lend himself very well to drugs like E, coke/crack, or some good shrooms but let us know if you have anyways. Anyone done acid or heroin while listening to Moz? That could be fun. I could only imagine the heroin since I've never done the stuff.

the only time I can stomach Kill Uncle is after I pop a couple tabs of mescaline.

You're right, "hard" drugs like heroin do not lend themselves well at all to Morrissey/Smiths music - tried it few times with unsatisfactory results.
Really, Morrissey's music is a bit too intellectual. The last thing you want to try and do while high on heroin is to contemplate how bleak the world is, animal rights and how lonely you are. Also, musically the Smiths/Morrissey are very sober-sounding. Whilst hopped up on smack it's best to listen to swirling, heavy guitar-driven, semi-trippy rock.

It's been said, and I would have to agree, that bands like the Velvet Underground are the best "junkie" music. Or, for those looking for a heavier sound, EyeHateGod do the trick. Also, Bowie's earl stuff, ealry 70's Stones, or the godfather of smack-rock, Iggy Pop ala Sttoges/Raw Power era.

Really, the best rule of thumb is to listen to music made by junkies, or artists who were junkies at the time they made certain records. This music seems to make the most "sense" when you're sitting, high as a kite, drooling, with a needle sticking out of your arm.

Morrissey/Smiths songs are *great* on shrooms or acid. I haven't done those drugs in awhile, but yeah. "Meat is Murder," "Southpaw Grammar," and "Strangeways Here We Come" go best with that.

Eh...I don't buy that. All music is great on drugs. But I only partake in psychedlics and booze.

Although nothing beats "Electric Ladyland"!

Indeed, every September the pennine hills are awash with 'mushies', the perfect antidote to the prospect of a long northern winter.

Certainly "Strangeways" is one to listen to especially "A Rush and a Push" and "I won't share you".

Ahh... but those early autumnal days seem long gone. Just cold, dark nights in listening to "I know it's Over" now.
