Director Karel Reisz has died.

He directed Saturday Night & Sunday Morning (1960) which inspired some of Smiths lyrics and We Are The lambeth Boys (1958) which can be heard in Spring Heeled Jim (the kids talking "and they say 'e's mental" etc).

I love the dialogue on SHJ. Did he just die today or yesterday? What are the chances of an obituary in the guardian maybe? I'd like to learn more about him. Ta for the news anyway ( sad though it is. )
