View Full Version : Morrissey Spotted At Tonight's Sweet & Tender Hooligans Show
Some Totally Random Moz Fan December 1, 2002, 12:33 PM The Smiths/Morrissey Tribute band "The Sweet and Tender Hooligans" had an unlikely audience member at the show in Pomona tonight: Morrissey himself.
After the show backstage the band's promoter relayed the shocking news: Morrissey had quietly entered 1/2 hour into the 2 hour show with a woman friend and watched from the balcony for about 30 minutes. There were only a few fans in the balcony... she looked over and couldn't believe what she was seeing: Morrissey watching his own cover band. It was definitely him. He signed a few autographs and then snuck back out.
The band was stunned. Lead singer Jose has been doing his tribute for 12 years and was absolutely floored that THIS of all shows was the one Morrissey finally attended. Morrissey has been aware of the band for several years and has mentioned to Jose in the past that he knew of his shows- but this came as a complete and total surprise to everyone in the room.
Now it begs the question: What did he think of the show?
Hopefully his people will contact Morrissey-Solo.Com and we'll all know ;^)
Cheers,
Jay
Wow December 1, 2002, 12:58 PM The Ultimate! Jose and the band must be speechless. A good thing, maybe.
Well done to them, I hope they put on a good show?

- they were all blown away... an unbelievable shock
A good thing, maybe.
>
- ha haha
> Well done to them, I hope they put on a good show?
- oh yes I think so... but I am biased - Jose is a good friend of mine and I've seen a million gigs... I'll try and rattle off the songs they played that I can remember:
First of the Gang To Die
Suedehead
You're The One For Me, Fatty
Death of a Disco Dancer
Asleep
Sing Your Life
Bigmouth Strikes Again
Mute Witness
What Difference Does It Make?
This Charming Man
Shoplifters of the World Unite and Take Over
London
Panic
Ask
Frankly Mr. Shankly
Cemetary Gates
Stop Me If You Think That You've Heard This One Before
Tomorrow
The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get
The Lazy Sunbathers(?)
The Boy Racer
Maladjusted
Trouble Loves Me (?)
Rali Forever December 1, 2002, 02:08 PM I live on the East Coast and I was thinking about checking out Johnny Marr. Do you think its going to be mostly Smith fans, Morrissey fans, Guitar people, or Who and Beatle fans because they want to see Ringo's son Zac.
Harsh Truth December 1, 2002, 03:16 PM so I guess the rumors after Vegas about the SATHs upsetting Morrissey by crashing the after-party must be false and/or exagerated. Stands to reason that if Moz was so upset by them, he wouldn't be going to see them perform.

Some Totally Random Moz Fan December 1, 2002, 08:31 PM I was at that Vega$ "Non Event"- and the best way to answer those rumours is merely to say don't believe all the anonymously written negative crap you read on this message board... the people who started stuff like that obviously were not there and were desperately reaching for a way to blast the Hooligans...
I'd say that they were vindicated...

Don't forget, there will probably be a lot of Rafe fans because Brian loves the Smiths.
