3/4 Of A Person

A friend of mine was at the Brixton gig last night and managed to get backstage. By the time she'd gotten there, however, Moz was obviously gone. However she did get to talk to his manager (she didn't catch his name, but said he was American and a really nice bloke) and was told that there will DEFINITELY be an album next year, and also a tour, because he "loves doing it".

Idle gossip? We'll have to wait and see, but it comes from a reliable source- Straight from his manager's mouth!

His Tour Manager in America was British... unless he has changed Managers, your friend may have met his personal assistant, a blonde named Blossum, who is American...

Well, I know I have posted this same info here before, but it still relates. At the San Diego show in Sept., I was talking to Alain and he said that if the album gets released it would more than likely be around the new year, and there would be a full scale tour to follow. He said that if the album did not get released then, that they would still be doing some more tour dates around that time(in 03). But he said that if the album does not get released soon, then "That's it.....it's over......" Whatever that means exactly, I'm not sure, but that comment knotted my stomach.

The thing is, the songs are already recorded. I don't know who did any production or anything, but I know there about 24 tracks already done. I think it's all about finding a label to release them now.

When I got lifted for trying to video the show in Birmingham, the security bloke said the tour manager was the eagle eyed git that saw me, well he didn't call him that but he did say HIM, which would make the tour manager (of Birmingham at least) a male.

Grim, my old son.. with your record on bootlegging (allegedly).. Not saying you do it of course, although I could guess where you would have been in prohibition era Chicago, can you e-mail with what you MAY have from this tour!

A version of HIG would be interesting!

I don't think that's right. Didn't he recently say something along the lines of: "We're ready to go in there and record"? My understanding is there are 24 songs written, not recorded.

are you sure that he didn't mean that demos were recorded?

originally the rumor was that they were supposed to go in the studio in october. boz had told some people that way back before the tour started.....a tour that would have supposedly started in early supper at that point, so obviously, if there was album recording to be done it got pushed back.

well i hope the outpouring of love will outweigh the doings of a few miserly record labels and he will continue on regardless

I don't know if the record labels are 'miserly', but Morrissey isn't worth much more than a $50,000 contract from a record company. He's gonna have to check his ego, accept that he's not worth much from a record company perspective and accept the offer.

Of course, the real money for him is in touring - as it is with all artists. So, of course, he'll want to keep touring to bring in the money. But my interpretation of Alain's comments to Sharron is that Alain and Boz are giving up on the Morrissey thing if he doesn't sign with a label. So, if a label-less Morrissey wants to continue touring, he'll have to get a new band.

Wooohooo! Let's hope he doesn't get signed yet!
