View Full Version : MY POINT: Now, whose live Performances are more sincere... Moz or Lou Reed?
Fox in the Snow October 27, 2002, 07:15 AM Mozzer circa 2002 or Lou Reed circa 1977????????????
1.) Politics: Lou Reed was (and is) political at his Live Performances (race, gay issues, whotever), Mozzer has 2 recent political songs: Mexico and Irish Blood, English Heart. Yet, Lou seems to be way more outspoken and loud...
2.) Private Live: Moz ix hidding his, Lou was (is), more chatty...
3.) Both Lou and Moz are highly charismatic individuals... NYC versus Manchester/LA???
4.) Kill me, Lou seems to be more sincere of those too, just, at least one or two of you, Lou Reed live performances transcripts below...

Well, Morrissey out there promoting PETA, playing "Meat Is Murder," and calling for boycotts of Elephant abusing countries.

Amanda Wingfield October 28, 2002, 06:42 AM That's a performance I've found a bit puzzling outside a gay/lesbian "recovery" ministry.

Oh, come on, here you are displaying a gay form of dogmatism... Yeah, being queer myself, I'm convinced that human sexuality is not carved in stone, some people are BISEXUAL (starting with prehistoric horny cavemen to ancient Greeks to Oscar Wilde and up to modern times... LOL), and if Lou Reed fell in love with Laurie Anderson, then kudos to both of them!
"why should he be treated differently,
shouldn't matter who you choose to love"
Madonna, In This Life song from Erotica (1992).

can you say "beard"?
B.C. October 29, 2002, 05:09 PM Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson are a great couple, obviously very much in love. Why judge them? Just be happy for them.
Why are some gay people so threatened by bisexuals? No one is going to try to convert you
Amanda Wingfield October 30, 2002, 08:07 AM >bisexuals?
yeah, try explaining human sexuality to a new york co-op board! it's all about real estate

Lou Reed had 3 wives..
1.) Betsy, Long Iseland Jewish girl ('Berlin' Period, got married around 1971)
2) Sylvia Fernandez (married at 1981, lived with her all 80s)
3.) Laurie Anderson (even if I'm not sure they are "officially" married...)
Of course, he had plenty gay lovers too all those years... I'm not sure about now, so...
You know, there is a category of women who love gay men... (ex.: Judy G. and Liza M. mother - daughter tandem)
Real estate coop??? Not a big concern for Lou... He has his own house at Hamptons...
Amanda Wingfield October 30, 2002, 05:11 PM Enough, already! You don't need to make a case for the ambisexuality of Miss Reed. (Hell, he even lived with a pre-op tranny, if I am to believe my old issues of Creem magazine.) I am just an embittered dyke who used to love Laurie Anderson. There, I admitted it. I don't really care about that old speed freak. I'm sure he can get whatever he wants, while his partner came to the end of her royalties from "O Superman" a long time ago. I hope she enjoys her time at the house in the Hamptons! And I hope she remembers that she still pulls on the heart strings of her sapphic sisters.
