Statement From Mike Joyce
Hello People...
Due to the legal implications of putting up the Smiths tracks. I am currently
seeking advice as to the best way to get these tracks heard. I will keep you
informed of any progress. Sorry About the delay.
Love and Peace
Mike
P.S. There is only one factor in this that is stopping me from putting these tracks up on this site. I'm sure you all know what/who that is.....
YEAH; THE OWNER OF THE COPYRIGHTS
I am right and you are wrong. October 16, 2002, 11:34 AM Don't call him a twit.

I think he does know that but he is trying to get people mad at Morrissey and Marr for not releasing it. First I thought he was just really stupid but after reading the disgusting question he posted about Morrissey being a queen and hanging out at the LA Boys Club to pick up dates, and putting a lien on his Mom's house I think he's the real angry and bitter person.
Mindy October 16, 2002, 05:30 PM i hope he does put them up so that morrissey can countersue him. that'll learn him!

I think this is the question you are referring to:

Hey Mike,
Big fan man. I just got to know from the source I the pope of mope, Morrissey, a screaming queen? That guy is such a fag. I will keep a look out for any new stuff you put out in the states. I think you and Andy got a raw deak with the whole royalties deal with the Smiths music. I hear Morrissey lives out here in Los Angeles. He's probably hanging out in boystown in West L.A.. Stay cool. Later
Mike Answers:
Come on pal. "Is Morrissey a queen?" Are you a dickhead Hetero? You know what I'm saying? One's sexuality, of whatever persuasion, shouldn't really be dissed in my book.
I think I got a raw deal too. But that'a another matter.
Be Cool.
Peace
As you can see, I think Mike was actually standing up for ol' Mozzer by ridiculing the questioners statement, "Is Morrissey a Queen" by asking him if he wasa," Dickhead Hetero?"

Yes thats the vile post I was referring to. My point is if you had a website and someone submitted a question like that would you put it on your site? Most people would just throw it out, and if he really respected Morrissey as he claims he does why even post that? Im sure he gets a lot of questions about his drumming or experiences with The Smiths instead of answering that kind of crap. The statement " He's probably hanging out in boystown in west LA" is slandeous. I don't care how Mike Joyce responded, the point is the original question has no place on any site.
outing or defending? October 16, 2002, 07:38 PM I don't quite know what to make of that answer, by defending his right to be gay, he's pretty much saying he IS gay, so maybe that's what he was getting at, rather than genuinely defending him.
Whatever Moz's sexuality, I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate Mike Joyce revealing it. Mike probably doesn't know much more than the rest of us anyway, so his guess is probably no better than ours.
Jeff October 17, 2002, 02:38 PM Hmmmm - You don't know a semicolon from your ass. If you're going to make a valid point use the correct grammar: "that'll teach him!". This slagging match is between Moz and Mike, who is right and who is wrong? I could give you valid arguments for both sides... but why bother?
Mindy October 17, 2002, 05:12 PM i had no idea i was going to be graded on my grammar at a messageboard, of all places. obviously, as an english major, i know that "that'll learn him" is not correct grammar. it was meant in a jokey manner. i was basically quoting a line from the simpsons. so maybe next time, criticise my argument instead of my grammar. (no, "who cares?" is not a very persuasive argument. if you don't want to read it, don't read it.)
p.s. shove it up your ass. you are dismissed.
Jeff October 18, 2002, 02:52 PM Hmmm... you don't seem to like it when people judge you; bear that in mind when you judge people like Mike Joyce.
Mindy October 18, 2002, 03:34 PM i think judging someone's grammar on a messageboard is a bit pettier than someone judging mike joyce. furthermore, i do have a right to come to my own conclusion on the matter. you might think it's no one's business but mike's and morrissey's, but morrissey obviously doesn't mind if we side with him. oh, that's right. you're british, aren't you? "sorrow will come in the end" wasn't released over there.
i am sick of people on this messageboard getting so holier-than-thou. it's not like you don't have any opinions on the matter. a messageboard is made for spouting one's opinions and if you don't like mine, fine. agree to disagree. don't attack my grammar - but if you do, please be consistent. you could be the grammar police on the board. go through every post and scour them all for errors. happy hunting!
Jeff October 19, 2002, 09:25 PM Now, I could say Americans don't understand what the Smiths were about because Morrissey was more successful as a solo artist in the early 90's in the USA, but I guess that would make me some sort of racist such as yourself. Well, I've said it so I guess I am.
I'd rather have my grammar criticized than be wrongfully castrated by someone that sounds as if they should have stayed with Mork on that comedy TV show from years ago.
Mindy October 19, 2002, 09:42 PM i take umbrage at your accusation that i am racist. i said nothing bad about your being british. perhaps i should not have made that assumption, but i only said it because it is true that "sorrow..." was not released in the UK.
how does my being an american have any bearing on whether or not i understand what the smiths are about? what does the mike joyce/morrissey lawsuit have to do with what the smiths are about anyway? my opinion on the case has nothing to do with my understanding of the smiths. in fact, dear boy, would you believe me if i said i marginally prefer the smiths to morrissey's solo work?
furthermore, you look like an idiot attempting to criticise my grammar since so many other people on this site make far more dire errors than i! and considering mine wasn't even an error, you look like an even bigger twat. tres petty, mon cher! (not to mention the fact that if i wanted to, i could pick yours apart as well.)
and i wasn't named after that hideous television show. my parents have got better sense than that. mindy is short for melinda, if you must know.
anyway, please go back to kissing mike joyce's arse.
"please god give me patience, just no more conversation"
Jeff October 20, 2002, 11:38 PM Well, I do have "Sorrow Will Come...", there are such things as imports you know. I don't kiss the ass of any particular member of The Smiths; there are instances were Mike Joyce is in the wrong and vica-versa. If you get this pissed off by having your grammar judged, then think how it is when more serious things get judged.
I don't want plaster this message board with our petty debate; if you want to take it further email: fisherino@lycos.com
