Reading Angela's diary (just to see she'd written NOTHING about me) on Morrissey-tour.com I see she's been to see the alleged 'iron bridge' Morrissey mentions in 'Still Ill'. But look at the picture! Come on. No one is going to get romantic and poetic about this...... Surely whatever Angela has been told about this is plain wrong. Anyway the bridge written about was Viv Nicholson's experience and not Morrissey's. Surely?

Viv is writing about a bridge over a canal Angela, not a railway.

"We walked for miles, round the backs, right over the iron bridge and down underneath it on the towpath. We were kissing away and touching and getting really sore lips" From Viv Nicholson's book, "Spend Spend Spend".

Well, that is indeed the bridge on Kings Rd. I had been there before too, about 11 years ago, and it still looks exactly the same. I don't know if it is the "Iron Bridge" from "Still Ill," but according to every Smiths legend I ever heard, it is. It is not far from Moz's old house on Kings Rd, and right to the right of the bridge is a small market. And once you walk over the bridge. you end up in the playground of St. Mary's, Moz's old secondary school.

Viv Nicholson is from Castleford (near Leeds) and there's enough Iron Bridges along the Aire and Calder Navigation
