silly-willies?

Surely not. I can't seem to find the lyrics to TWIFOCB, though I know they're out there somewhere - or at least a verion of them.

Does he really sing 'Silly willy', 'Silly billy' or something entirely different?

Yes, I think its "silly-willy tax men, unifromed whores."

Kinda lame. How about "Greedy, seedy tax men, uniformed whores."

"Silly Willy" makes it sound like a childrens song.

here you go :

You must be wondering how the boy next door turned out
have a care but don't stare because he's still there
demented policemen, policemen silly willy taxmen
Uniformed whores
They who wish to hurt you, they work within the law
This world is full of so full of crashing bores
And I must be one beacuse no one ever turns to me to say take me in your arms
Take me in your arms
and love me
You must be wondering how the boy next door turned out
have a care and say a prayer because he's still there
demented policemen, silly willy taxmen, uniformed whores
Educated criminals represent the law
This world is full of crashing bores
And I must be no one cos no one ver turns to me to say take me in your arms
take me in your arms and love me and love me
What really lies beyond the content of my mind
thrown to the sea -would fate bring back me?
Or just more rockstar popostars
Thicker than pigshit (or thinking they're big shit)
nothing to convey
so scared to show intelligence
it might smear a lovely career
This world, Im afraid
is designed for crashing bores
and I am not one
You don't understand
you don't understand
And yet you can take me in your arms and love me
Take me in your arms and love me..
etc..

The lyrics are at morrissey-tour.
thanks girls!

Moz is under the impression that he's been #ucked with too many times by lawyers, judges, etc. If the lyric is accurate (and I believe it is), then he's being over-the-top patronizing and condescending--as if they're so infantile he has to nursery-rhyme insults to them so that they can understand them. Or else he's indicating that he's so far past them that they deserve no more thought than unruly boys. Maybe a mixture of both. Of all the new songs, Crashing Bores is growing on me the most.

I suppose that is one point of view that I hadn't thought about.

Its a good song, don't get me wrong! The "silly willy" line has always made me cringe, though.

Thanks everyone for the lyrics and interpretations. Nice one WeiB. Perhaps that IS the point. I like this song a lot, but I was a bit confused about that line. I certainly felt a bit stupid singing it on Tuesday in case I was way off the mark......I just mumbled that bit.
