View Full Version : Morrissey's Dress sense???????? Gripper Stebson August 30, 2002, 09:20 AM Does Morrissey still wear oxfam cardigans and air wear shoes????? Johnny August 30, 2002, 10:17 AM > Does Morrissey still wear oxfam cardigans and air wear shoes????? Cool name Gripper ! I haven't seen him in Docs since about the Southpaw Grammer era and I would doubt very much if those cardigans are the Oxfam ones of his Smiths days. The current shirts he is wearing are awful and make him loom like Noel Coward but i would be interested to know what footwear he is into. The Smiths were never really fashion icons as we can see from the numerous pictures of them wearing the dreaded WHITE SOCKS! Moz wears a lot of cool gear but I thought the jeans and jacket phase was very bad dress sense. But anyway,,,what do I know....I wear kilts:) On another note...has anyone notices how expensive Oxfam is nowadays? Love one another. Johnny x Tingle August 30, 2002, 11:53 AM > On another note...has anyone noticed how expensive Oxfam is nowadays? But have you seen what people pay 'full price' for new clothes? Oh I really don't think that OXFAM is expensive. I think perhaps they filter out the low quality stuff because it doesn't do anyone any good to have smelly clothes hanging around. You don't see things for 20p or 50p so much, but where else can you buy a jacket for £5? It must make a lot more sense for them to sell a limited number of items at £5 rather than sell 25 times as many at 20p. Charity shops don't seem to have many CDs for sale. Why? Is it because people aren't donating them or they only used to donate scratched records that they didn't want any longer? (though I recently got an import CD copy of The Smiths Best of... for a couple of quid from the Red + ) In my town we now have an OXFAM book shop which sells paperbacks for £1 - £2. I like it much better than the pile 'em high sell 'em cheap attitude of Borders or Waterstone's. And yet OXFAM is still cheaper. > Love one another. and help them get them food and water! PS What's the view on Morrissey's choice of trouser? He seems to have been wearing slightly casual 'combat' type troos. Nice or not? Gripper Stebson August 30, 2002, 01:10 PM Jamie August 30, 2002, 01:25 PM The frilly, vanilla custard-coloured shirts are bad enough. But putting a BROWN cardigan on top of it? When I saw the first picture of him with this get-up, I instantly thought of an aged disco dancer, swirling around in the retirement home (the death of which happens a lot 'round there, ho ho...) Truly, he has topped the fashion faux pas that was the Levis and "sensible" blazer ensemble! Cheers, Jamie The Phantom Flan Flinger August 30, 2002, 01:35 PM I'd put money on it that its a gucci cardie! > The frilly, vanilla custard-coloured shirts are bad enough.
