Been listening to.. well, drenching myself in the Joy Division meets Wire meets Television glory of (yet) another NY band, Interpol.. new album is 'Turn On The Bright Lights'.. There is a track on it sounds like the Smiths.. high praise.. go have a listen.
Thought I'd contribute something as I haven't been hanging here quite so much lately.. but I am still alive even if I'm gasping a bit!
Ruffian.

I heard a single of theirs, name of track unknown, but they are very good! They do have that Joy Division sound to them, but they also stand alone with out the comparisons. I intend to buy their latest CD.

They played Manchester last week. Did anyone see them?

For a great band who sound like Joy Division, try Chapter 13. They had an LP out last year called "The World From Heaven". In fact, they could almost be a JD tribute band, apart from the fact that they write their own material. It's still very good though. Hmm, they should have a new LP out soon. The last Peel session was ages ago, and that was all new material which, funnily enough, sounded like 1982 New Order. They've moved on!
