Ok - there is no denying that the Smiths were an innovative band. Moz's lyrics broke new ground in terms of emotional expressiveness and Johnny Marr's multi-layered guitar textures were original.
But Morrissey's solo career is an irrelevence. The true successors to the smiths are surely Radiohead. Their music is pushing rock into new areas - "Ok Computer" sounded like nothing before. Also the expression of pain on songs like 'Street Spirit' echo the Smiths far more clearly than 'Southpaw Grammar'.

Typical irrational fandom. Risible. Try presenting some arguments.

That is very true. Radiohead are pushing their music into new areas.
I use "Kid A" to get my 3 year old sister to sleep at nights. One play of that and she is giving it big zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's in seconds.
I also wish that little tosser Yorke would stop trying to behave like a "tortured poet". He is a multi millionaire without a care in the world who lives in his own little world.
He always was a pretentious little w@nker.
