This board has turned into Morrissey bashing.
I can't bear to see this being done to my favorite singer/songwriter.

People get emotional and say things based on how they feel at the time. I can see why a lot of the things that happen out of the Morrissey camp is bothersome to some fans but what can you do? If you like the music, buy it. If you want to see him live, buy tickets and hope for the best. Sometimes people act like Morrissey is the only musician/band to ever cancel or postpone a show. It happens ALL the time for millions of reasons. So Morrissey doesn't want to sign a record deal that isn't going to make him any money and isn't going to do anything for his career because there will be no promotional money behind the record. Why does that bother people? Why give away something for virtually nothing? If you think this is reasonable, I have lots of work to be done around the house that you are more than welcome to do for me.

I have nothing bad to say because as it stands, I have a very good chance at seeing 5 Morrissey concerts. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. If he never releases another record it doesn't erase the back catalogue which I continue to enjoy on an almost daily basis.

All the funny things he's said in interviews are preserved. All the bootleg concerts on audio and video format are preserved. Lots of interesting stuff has surfaced in the past couple years such as the unreleased tracks.

If Morrissey is such an asshole, why did he not do anything about that? Many musicians send threatening lawyer letters to people just for posting lyrics on their website. Morrissey basically GAVE us free songs. He also hasn't requested Mirival sessions be removed from web sites. He hasn't stopped Boz from playing Kit which in turn has become MP3s and Quicktime movies for everyone to have for free.

For whatever reason he stopped the release of the 30 minute DVD. It's his choice. He hasn't released the full Wolverhampton show on video (His first ever solo concert) but we know its been filmed and professionally recorded. He did claim it was unfortunate that the band played so poorly that night but I've heard the bootleg and the only bad performance is the guy standing near the tape recorder. Should we be mad for him leaving that out of our collections?

There is much more Morrissey stuff for hardcore fans than there is for fans of many other bands. If you aren't happy with it, don't go to any shows, its one less person I have to compete with for front row.

Thank you, drive through.
