When, if ever, and where did he last play in Manchester (solo I mean)? If he hasn't, anyone know why not?

According to the Morrissey's Manchester book, he has only played once, at the Apollo in 1992. He should have played with Bowie in 95, at the MEN arena but pulled out.

That's strange, why only once I wonder with all the times he's played in Britain. I thought everybody liked a hometown gig, I'm sure Manchester must be missing him, and there are some great venues there. Did something bad happen at the Apollo show?

Dunno why he didn't play home town gigs but Chester ('97) & Liverpool ('99) are both on the doorstep so to speak. Might be he's not that impressed anymore with his old home town, maybe he doesn't like his roots showing?
