Since I don't think they get much press anymore, some of you may be unaware that the latest GALLON DRUNK album "Fire Music" is out.

You can get it here:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005YXOY/qid=1026051201/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/103-6992983-2681448

Mine just came yesterday so I haven't quite digested it. But it's a very mature album for them. There's a fantastic cover of Bob Dylan's "Series of Dreams" which is worth the price alone. The whole album has a funky soul latenight feel, with very clear, subdued vocals, and some nice piano and horns throughout. (I'm rubbish when it comes to describing music!) And one song is gospel music. Plus, they've added a female backround vocalist who adds a beautiful touch to some of the tracks. I have to give it a few more listens to be sure, but it may be their best yet. This is a very real album to turn to....to get away from the trendy, slick crap we're being hammered with. And if you were one of the many Morrissey fans who booed Gallon Drunk back in the early 90s, when they opened for him, they have a more accessible sound these days. Get their "Black Milk" album while you're at it.
