Out to save the world from the rapid deterioration of quality music,
The Revolution Smile has emerged onto the Rock & Roll landscape with
a vengeance. Hailing from Sacramento, California, The Revolution
Smile has been gaining momentum since its inception in 2000. With
its captivating blend of aggressive songwriting and unforgettable
vocal melodies, the band has been able to play with a number of up
and coming artists ranging from Project86 to Tinfed.
“At War with Plastic”, the band’s debut album, has receivedcritical
acclaim and is being spun on selected FM stations throughout the
country. Chris Macias, pop columnist of the Sacramento Bee,
nominating the album one of the year 2000’s best local efforts. The
CMJ New Music Report Issue: 696 - Dec 25, 2000, features a reviewby
Amy Sciarretto, "you'd swear Lopez downed a bottle of Jolt before
sitting down to write the music. "The New Diet," "Orange" and
"Plasticman" aren't metal, but they surely rock." -CMJ
While the album is a convincing testament to songwriting
capabilities, their fuel injected live performances have been
flooring audiences around the West Coast. Fronted by ex-Far
(Immortal/Epic Recording artist) guitarist, Shaun Lopez, the bandis
rounded out by Tim McCord on guitar, Jeremy White on Drums, and
Octavio Gallardo on bass.
Currently, the Revolution Smile is rocking throughout California
while working on their upcoming cd scheduled for release in summer
2001. The band will be contributing the song Landmine Spring to "A
Driven State" a tribute to Quicksand courtesy of End of the Circle
Records. The compilation will feature other artists such as
Glassjaw, Biohazard, Zebrahead, Simon Says and many more. The
Revolution Smile will be on a compilation released by Sunset
Alliance, along with the artists Fireside, Mock Orange, Cursive,The
Jealous Sound, Rocket from the Crypt, defacto and many more. The
Revolution has begun. You have been warned.
The Revolution Smile are now planning to hit the studio tobegin recording
their forthcoming Flawless debut with producer Dave Sardy (System Of A
Down, Marilyn Manson) next month. Andy Wallace (Faith No More, System OfA
Down) has tentatively been lined up to mix and a release late this
