View Full Version : A Pulp post (no Moz content): F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E
Ruffian June 17, 2002, 01:22 PM Wasn't it a lovely evening and a perfect setting for a gig last night? Fathers day, a mild evening.. out in the Forest.. bit like a gig in Sweden, all that pine.. So there I was in Bedgebury Pinetum in Kent watching the new Morrissey, Jarvis Cocker!! The gig kicked off with an appropriate, given the venue, and best version of "The Trees" then followed by highlights...
.. "F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E", "This is Hardcore",
"Sunrise", "Sorted For E's And Wizz", "Live Bed Show", "weeds" the wonderful "Babies". They also did as one of the encores, from what I could gather.. "My Legedary girlfriend"? Which must be on one of those early albums..
Isn't Jarvis so cool? His droll wit always shines.. a veritable Sunday night treat! Sorry to enthuse.. the sun is shining and so am I...

"My Legendary Girlfriend" was on "Separations", wasn't it ? It's one of my favourites, too - I highly recommend "Separations" BTW to anyone who hasn't got it yet - IMHO the first great-all-the-way-through Pulp album.
Alma June 17, 2002, 10:11 PM that song is also on the "countdown 1992-1983" album which is great and has 2 of my favorite pulp songs---"Death goes to the disco" and "being followed home"

Billy Budd June 18, 2002, 09:53 AM aagghhh Jarvis Cocker - the new Morrissey (thats gonna set of the brew shakes), the guy is a major phoney of Micheal Stipe proportions. He has written some class songs fair play, but he's still a blue nose Wednesday barsteward. I know someone who went to school with him, who assures me he is a thoroughly nice guy, but why does he have to pose so much, he comes accross as being a right fake git to me.

Well I was being provocative with the Jarvis/Morrissey comparison.. but they are not that far apart in the world of musical twister.. I would not say Jarv is a fake though.. I have met him and he's warm, shy and funny.. rings any bells? And at least he's honest about his politics, sexuality and he plays gigs and DJ's to his age group and makes challenging records!!
Embrace him! ha ha..
Keep posting though BIlly Boy.. you have something to say for sure. I like Johnny as well for the comments..
