Edgar Poe was one of those rare sons of pure art. Every american can notice his genius, but they always will find an irritating way to bash one of their best writers. There's something evil on his pages wich just artists in a high level of talent could write. I have found an interesting review that Baudelaire once wrote about this unlucky master of literature, and somehow That reflects a harsh truth: Edgar Poe could be famous still in life, and adored if he were english or french. Poe was one of the "less" americans, of the american writers, and maybe this could explain why his own people didn't give all the aplauses that he deserved.
Seems that Morrissey is reading Poe, and I hope his fans open their books, and find out the genius of this man who died in Baltimore. Pages of pure beauty and inspiration need to be read lots of times to be understood.

Dont le regard m'a fait soudainement renaître,
Ne te verrai-je plus que dans l'éternité?"

Yes I know. Nothing is scary enough in United States, and you surely can relate.
