In my extreme boredom today, my brain was trying to occupy itself with something and it came up with the idea that some themes in Morrissey songs (namely 'Girl Least Likely To' and 'Speedway') are very similar to snippets of Alexander Pope's 'Epistle to Dr. Arbuthnot.' I'm not going to post the poem up here as it's 419 lines long, but it's the one where Pope goes into deep defence of his satire. Does anyone else that has read it agree? Probably not.
