Man City are bigger than both those. Spurts and Everton are clubs that, like Nik Kershaw, used to be big - in the 80s. Despite being a Gooner, I can't see Tottenscum getting anywhere near Maine Rd attendances when they reach Division 2...

I know you posted this because of my comments about Villa. Typical really, a knee-jerk reaction to criticism, rather than attempting analysis and reasonable debate. Let's face it, Villa are currently in the position that Leicester were in this time last season. What's their record since Turnip took over? Two wins in 10? That's relegation form. They will carry this form over into next season and will struggle. Turner will suffer the embarrassment of moving upstairs as director of football again, making way for a younger man. I am not attacking Villa or their supporters, just commenting on the situation I see unfolding.

This shows your ignorance. Everton are not a "big" club. Omitting City was laughable.

Preston a small club? Founder members of the League, first League winners, first to win back-to-win League titles... And the famous Tom Finney. All over the world, people link Finney with Preston. If you asked them to name a famous player closely linked to Villa, I think they'd struggle. There's no obvious Dixie Dean, Blanchflower, Matthews, Bobby Moore, Charlton, Dalglish etc is there? Eh?

How can you say Leeds are a big club, they just had a few young players who were up for it but aren't anymore. Newcastle are another team that people hype up for some strange reason, both Newcastle and Leeds just get lucky now and again but really they are never going to be in the same league as Man U, Liverpool or Arsenal (saying that I thought Arsenal were shocking against the mighty reds on sunday.) I do agree that Chelsea arent a big club, theve just got money, theyre no better than the Boro really!

In the late 80s and early 90s I recall Newcastle United having attendances as low as 5000 prior to the Keegan earer, same goes for Sunderland. It makes me laugh when people talk about the North-East being unbelievably passionate about their football. Maybe now they have their nice big stadiums, and millions to waste.

I hate Man City, but you can't argue with their attendances averaging 30k in Division 2 a few seasons back, I can't see too many clubs doing that nowadays.

Millwall didn't do too badly. Reading also.
