Get a call out to Ruffian to get his band up!
V.D. is there gonna be a Panic late August? It's me b-day & I'm thinking of organising a night out in Leeds for me & my workmates but it would be nice to take 'em to a Panic night aswell. After the 18th is good as that's pay day.

Cheers

On a slightly different note how many anti-monarchy songs, or songs with anti-monarchy references, can you think of. At this moment in time the following spring to mind:

The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead/Nowhere Fast
Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen
Stone Roses - Elizabeth My Dear
Housemartins - Flag Day / Beautiful South - I Think The Answers Yes/We'll Deal With You Later
Primal Scream - Star (don't like this band much, but there politics are sound).

I'm struggling there must be plenty more, Billy Bragg must have done a few, can't think of any of the top of my head.

At least The Golden Jubilee isn't as insesent as the Silver Jubilee was, that whole pathetic parade was the first time I started questioning institutions, I was about 13 at the time. Will this one lead some unsuspecting 13 year old out there to do the same ?

Hey, VD

not a bad idea at all. I'll dig out my bass, get in touch with DC Ellis on guitar and you can lead sing. We'll have to find a drummer (how about camp Simon?).

I already know the tune for Anarchy in the UK and God Save the Queen and with a bit of work I'm sure we could do Elizabeth my Dear and even the Queen is Dead.

I don't think the local talent will have much to worry about but if we can put on two or three songs it would be a nice taster- what do you think?? The Smiley Tuesdays may be back.

What about:

Repeat - Manic Street Preachers (a bit mindless, but good fun live none the less ... 'Repeat after me, F*** Queen and Country ...')
Charles Windsor - McCarthy
The Wicked Palace Revolution - McCarthy

Im putting Panic on every two months on the 3rd Saturday, so the next one will be on May 18th, that means the one after that would be in July, BUT seeing it's your birthday in August (and I fancy a summer break) then I could sort out a night on 17th August instead of July(will you get paid on a sunday?). I'l make you a jelly too!

V.D. the 17th August would work out great, as I'd get paid on the 16th as the 18th falls on a Sunday, sort it & I'll post it round work, they're not into Moz but they're into the drink. We'll need some cheap b'n'b's.
Besides you will deserve a break, is it gonna make a clash with the Manc night though?
