This may not be news at all, but I've just read Miranda Sawyer's book 'Park and Ride' which I found very funny. She is excellent with her observation of English suburban life, (if a little misguided about Surbiton), it really made me laugh. There's a section where she relates her experience of clubs in the 80's and she describes going to places in Manchester and finding Goths, Punks and 'Smiths devotees'. Note, not Indie Kids, alternative rockers but 'Smiths devotees'. Obviously we are a breed apart.
