Listening to the excellent "Kill Uncle" yet again I'm reminded that this is indeed true for me too. But then I think 'What's in a name?'. I think technically a family 'line' can't be continued by a sister, but isn't that all stupid. Stupid, but it there IS a silly sad feeling that I know there just won't be any 'fruit of the loins' (I think there's a sweatshirt maker with that name too, ha, ha).

My granddad is 100 this year and there won't be a continuation of his branch of his genus. It was not to be.

Is sperm donation not an option, I realise it's not in name but it's a blood thang, innit?
