Did Morrissey just dance on stage when The Smiths played The Draze Train live or did he leave the stage?

I saw the Smiths 3 times in Manchester in 86, at G-Mex, Salford Uni (2 gigs in two days in July!) and The Free Trade Hall (October).
I remember at the last two they played the Draize Train or other instrumental straight after leaving the stage for the first time. It was definately only Marr, Rourke and Joyce on stage, with Marr taking over as 'lead focus' of the group weilding his thang!
Morrissey then returned to stage for the next song.
