Hello Campers!

Hope you had a good Summer. There was sunshine, rain, wind, sleet - we had it all did we not?

The nights are now drawing in....must mean it's gig time! After their summer slumber THE SMYTHS ARE BACK!

There are two shows this month to get the new season going. In football terms, two grounds that we've always shown good form at with brilliant supporters.

SATURDAY 12th SEPTEMBER - HARTLEPOOL THE STUDIO £10.00 (www.studiohartlepool.com)
We make our annual trip to Hartlepool's Studio (is it a year already?). Lovely place, lovely people we're pleased to be back and what a place to start...
The band will play two sets containing new and not-heard-for-a-while songs.
ADVANCE BOOKING IS STRONGLY ADVISED AS ALL PREVIOUS SHOWS HAVE SOLD OUT
Band on stage for first set at 9 p.m.

SUNDAY 13th SEPTEMBER - LEEDS - THE NEW ROSCOE £10.00 (http://www.newroscoe.co.uk/home.asp)
Our second Leeds show of the year and if this is like every one of the previous dozen or so that went before, a great night is in prospect. We've seen a sea of Leeds men whip their T-Shirts in the air and last time round the crowd lifted Graham from the stage and passed him, like a football flag, from the front to the back to the front. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant times!
The band will play two sets containing new and not-heard-for-a-while songs.
Band on stage for first set at 9 p.m.

So if you're able to come, please do (we love a crowd) and if not then coming up for the rest of the year we have:
October: Poole
November: Portsmouth, St Albans and Derby
December: Belgium (Arlon), Putney and London

Stay Handsome you devils!

Yo Graham,
You guys doing any post Quarry stuff yet?
Don't blame you for skipping the mediocre Ringleader-era stuff but surely time it's to drop Irish Blood in favour of one or two of the recent songs.
Ambitious Outsiders did cracking version of a couple of YOR songs and I'm sure you guys could too!

Hi Maurice,

Short answer: Yes, there's now post Quarry material in the Autumn 09 set.
And plenty of untapped Smiths left to enjoy too! As per their name, you'd expect AO to offer up more Morrissey than we do (there's usually a 75:25 ratio in favour of Smiths material in our sets).

Hope to see you soon.

Graham.

Hoorah! Good stuff.
I'd love to see you guys tackling 'Birthday' - especially as Moz keeps bottling it!

It'll be great to see you again Aly. Any birthday requests? I'd love to offer "It's not your birthday anymore" but that's still a work in progress (I'd love to sing it Maurice and hope to have the chance to do so in the months ahead)

"We don't do requests", Morrissey.

Thanks to all who came to the past weekend's shows in Hartlepool and Leeds.
We enjoyed both shows so very much. I have to say just how remarkable the Leeds crowd were last night - from the first song onwards there was a fervour one normally receives towards the end of sets! It was an utter pleasure to play to you last night; each time I think it can't get better and every time you out do yourselves. In saying this I mean no slight to the wonderful folk of Hartlepool - you were a wonderful wonderful crowd but it would not be fair to not make mention of the good folk of Leeds last night...a band is only as good as the crowd before it my view, and you made last night the most sensational night since...last time! I'm still breathless.

We'll be back at The Studio in Hartlepool next Autumn and we'll be back at The New Roscoe, Leeds on Sunday February 28th.

Stay Handsome you charming charming charmers.
