...which I hope you'd be kind enough to give a listen to. I've been breaking skin and bone for months at work on this project, striving to complete another work to compete with the breathtakingly positive response I garnered with the last disc, 'The Audial Equivalent of John Wilkes Booth,' before I begin a new page in my life in the coming weeks. This was released yesterday on Pavia, Italy's End of Music label.

Suavity's Mouthpiece - eponymous extended-play (2009)

TRACKLIST:
1. I Call it Madness, but You Call it Love
2. A 'Friend' Plants the Knife and Twists
3. Guns Don't Kill People; MP3s Do
4. This is Prepubescence At Its Finest
5. Au Revoir, Mssr. Meursault
6. King of Love

Dubbed by LOSINGTODAY Magazine's UK correspondent Mark Barton as "a gem of a release...McRickson is one of those rarest of musical beasts whose alchemic abilities allow him to cross weave all manner of disparate generic tags into a beautifully flowing patchwork quilt...like a condensed history of popular sound."

The title of this thread scared me for a minute.

I thought we were getting a new EPbabe...when the one we already have is purrrrfect.

Why mess with a good thing? :thumb:
No, I'm afraid it's just me trying to 'stoke some interest, from at least 8 people...' :blushing: :o

You are so very kind.

Interesting that you like 'Empty Dreamer' -- it was my very first single :)

It's just hard to listen to not tuneful or very melodic, the sampling and playing back backwards is over used and makes it hard to listen to, i don't get it because i can't imagine any situation when anyone would want to replay it. Simply using musical instruments does not music make.

I'm sorry i've had a drink so i'm being a bit to honest i like you your obviously a good guy, and you've worked hard on this, but you asked.:blushing:

Thank you for your honestly reply -- it at least means that someone was willing to listen :)
I was only wondering what you meant by "getting it" :o But thanks for elaborating and listening :thumb:

Are you a Patrick Wolf fan by any chance? :)

Erm..:blushing: Well that's quite a difficult question to answer. If I named a group then I imagine one could disagree. You could sample it for me and tell me your opinion :D www.myspace.com/popisflammable :)

Magazine reviews have likened me to early Animal Collective, Sparks, Moz, Beck, Jeff Buckley, etc.
Oddly enough I'm compared to more bands that I've never actually listened to :o

I didn't download the EP, but I listened to a few tracks on your Myspace. I agree with billybu69 in that the sampling, atmospherics etc makes it a bit hard to listen to and obscures some of the vocal and musical hooks. Keep going though, because there's definitely a lot of potential there I think. :) I particularly like 'Empty Dreamer'.

It's strange, up until now the multiple instruments and samples seemed to be what people liked about my music :o
Guess there's no accounting for taste :D

I think you have a very similar vocal style, and the tracks have a kind of Wolf feel to them. Check him out :)
