Hell yes! My current favourite band, alongside Spearmint and B&S. Be careful though .... there are *two* Hefners in the UK. The great indie one on Too Pure, and a dancy one who have an album called "Residue".

So, do you have all the Hefner LPs? "The Fidelity Wars" and "Dead Media" are my two favourites ...... but they're all great.

Great. A wee bit like Hefner, but probably a bit more "slick". Just good, intelligent indie guitar pop. Their most recent LP, "A Differnt Lifetime" was my favourite album of last year. But their previous album, "A Week Away" is great too. Their site is www.spearmint.net

Glad you like Hefner. Get "The Fidelity Wars" next.

Don't buy them if you dislike the Lightning Seeds though. The sound is very similar. Sorry... I bought "A Different Lifetime" after reading a tip on this board, but although it's very nice, well-crafted pop, it doesn't quite get there for me. I was expecting greatness, but found instead a question mark on Basildon Bond notepaper. Funnily enough, I was in Leeds on Saturday (day after "Panic") and went into Jumbo Records. They had a copy in the sale racks for £6. Get down there!

I disagree with the Lightning Seeds comparison. Whilst i do agree that Spearmint are very "slick" (or, at least, "A Different Lifetime" was very slick) I think, lyrically at least, they're much classier. I actually think they sound a bit like Cinerama, but you'd disagree, wouldn't you.

Oh, I am scum BTW. That Edwyn CD is 8still8 sitting on my desk waitng to be mailed .... sorry sorry sorry .....
